I don't necessarily see the government capping the rents charged by private landlords, I don't think it chimes with their ethos.

The trouble is people need to live somewhere and if rents are higher then income and a cap on housing benefit is in place, then it doesn't take much to work out the maths..

London residents are either rich or on benefit.

Any working class family could never afford to pay London rent.

For some people I guess its easier to stay on benefits then to flog your guts out while some people are getting rich off your labour..
