Hi there,

Just a quick query.... Over the last 3 months I've been frantically trying to sort my credit file out. So far so good (bar my Vodafone bill)

All my creditors on my credit file are being paid and they are reflecting these on there. And my score has increased :-D

However i've 2 debts not on there. Presumably they came off my credit file after 6 years or maybe simply they are not on there.

Do i still have a legal obligation to pay them? Can they re add the debt to my credit score?

Many Thanks

No, if the account defaulted and it has reached the 6th birthday of that default, then it will drop off and reporting cannot be restarted.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

DX i am not in dispute with the debts on my credit file. I'm acknowledging them by paying them which is having a positive effect on my Experian report.

I've had Cash genie and 2 Motormile finance debts removed and in turn removed from my credit file after discrepancies were found.

My post was asking if i legally still owe the debts that are NOT on the credit file?

Yes, although if you have not acknowledged or paid these debts in a 6 year period you can write to the original creditor informing them you will not be paying, they should then stop any collection activity.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

depends on why they were removed from your file.

Lets put it this way

just because a debt does not show on a file does not mean it not owed

but it doesn't necessarily mean it is!

could have been written off by the creditor and removed..

there is no correct answer to your question.
