Hi Rosey-789

Apologies if I didn't call you back. I will always do all I can to help and was under the impression that this had been resolved for you.

Again, if that was not the case, I will be happy to look into this again for you.

Kind Regards

Manager told him to come into store tomorrow and they'd re-write agreements and pay £124

then he'd be squared up. not very helpful when hes having to pay the charges as well. if thats the case he may aswell just make last weeks payment and this weeks which would be £144 but we certainly could not pay the charges as well on top. even this will make us short.

Damage limitation. Going from BH's history, i'd say you didnt call them back because you would rather leave it in the hands of a manager who is known to be abusive and harassing. yet strangely your company still employees him and havent retrained him.

Going from info on your other stores, it seems to be an inherent business practice to allow your managers to do what they like and then say " Accounts are the responsibility of the shop".

As already said, do NOT rewrite the agreements. You pay what you actually owe. Do not be intimidated into paying the charges. If they want the charges they can take you to court. And you know what? They wont.

Good Afternoon,

I just noticed a post stating that if you have a re-write, the agreements will then be under the new terms.

Please be assured that this is not the case, any agreements taken out before the 2 September 2013 will still be under the same terms as when originally signed.

Just to touch on another post, the following link was provided and I believe there is a part which states that if you have a re-write, any Protective Goods Status (PGS) is cancelled.

If you have already reached Protected Goods Status ("PGS") on your items prior to a rewrite , it will remain in place following the rewrite.

Kind Regards

Morning Rosey487.

I am sorry to hear that this still has not been resolved for you and you now feel uncomfortable with the Store Manager.

At no point would we want you to make a large payment on the account if it is going to leave you in financial hardship.

Drop me a email at [email protected] and we can see what else we can do to help.

Kind Regards

You asked me to contact you by email which I did as did other day. now your saying you cannot discuss my partners account with me. Please do get back to the store manager as you say you will do but we are only paying last weeks payment + this weeks, we will not be paying late fees tomorrow.

Agree with IMP

Ann - Just to make this clear to you, i recently had to deal with one of your store managers from Crawley on behalf of someone i knew, Funnily enough he was a nice guy however he also stated that this person MUST resign the agreement with the NEW TERMS (Everything included) before he would wipe out the arrangement.

Its not a case of them complying

They are ignoring on a full scale!!!!

We could do with some help from you.

So 'twould seem. They will be having a crack at re-writing the laws of physics next I would guess.

Personally I would not trust what anyone from a company like BH says and would encourage people to research, understand and empower themselves to take on companies like this.

Rosey, have you thought about alternatives to outfits like BH? Have you a credit union near you that you could join?

Have you actually sat down and done the maths on how much the products you have purchased through this lot have actually cost you? I can guarantee it will make your eyes water. Get away from them as soon as you possibly can.

Hi yes, I joined one last year and they are fantastic and don't charge the earth. we are getting rid of Brighthouse once we finish paying for our stuff. its the sneaky way they've added even more onto what you purchase and won't take our insurance anymore so the price has risen even more. we have 3 items finishing so by next year we'll have got rid.

I thought of adding it all up last night but would dread to know as it will be in the thousands. hes been with them since they first appeared.

Lets just hope that they don't hit the roof when my partner pays the two weeks we owe and refuses to pay the charges of £54. He has health problems as it is but I'll be there with him :-) and thank you all for the huge help you've given me. Very much appreciated. xx

let them hit the roof. if they become abusive, step outside and either walk away or call the police on them.

Youve seen for yourself in this thread what the reps from head office are like, so at least you know you can stand up to them.

If the goods supplied to you are of poor quality and they refuse to repair them then reject the goods under the SOGA sorted, they will hate it but they will not try to take it to court as it will show just how much they rip you off in the first place, this is what a manufactures guarantee is all about, they must by law fulfil their obligations, under it. Get out asap and never go back

Not happy at all with what went on today.

we thought we'd of been able to pay the £140 which was last weeks and this weeks payment but my partner was short so couldn't pay it all.

went into shop and they were all waiting step in manager and 3 other staff members.

they knew everything and us refusing to pay charges etc.

They told us that if we pay £114.20 they would forget about last weeks payment.

I refused to pay the charges and

we were told

"if you don't pay then we can't forget about last wks payment and that our account next week would be back in arrears of £184."

I refused for ages as I told them it would leave us with no food and all he done was shrug his shoulders.

Partner ended up paying it when I told him not to.

we told them thats it we won't be buying anything else ever once we pay for the goods and managers answer was Good.

My partners now enemy customer 1 and out there good book.

Now to top this all off came home done some washing and went to put in tumble dryer and it won't switch on at all even after a fuse change.

completely dead.

we only finished paying for it this morning

gave in to the ransom threats then...?

as for the machine

its covered by SOGA no matter what they say or do.

you could have your day in court if they don't fix it no problems.

just remember theres a little safety switch/button on the door

check its not full of fluff..

Rosey

Sometimes the written word comes over as being harsh and believe me it is not intended to be so please don't take offence but.....

I will ask you again.

While YOU may be well up for the fight in court, is your PARTNER up for the fight?

Your partner appears to have caved in when under a bit of pressure form this lot. If that is the case, does he/she have the fore in the belly to take this crowd on?

If not then I'm afraid they will walk all over you and there is not much you can do.

How old is this dryer that packed up today?

I won't ask what steps you have taken with the SAR etc. etc. because so much hinges on whether you have the drive and staying power to take control and take this outfit to task.

Are you up for it (if you know what I mean)?

If so, then get to work and we will help you all we can.

Forget what the likes of the reps on CAG say as they have no authority to do anything apart from direct you to their Customer Service departments and give you the run around.

This is all down to you now if you want to take on the company as a whole.

Bear in mind that there are people on here who have taken on multi-billion/multi national companies and have won. In the interest of balance there have been some that have lost as well but the point is that these outfits can be brought to book if the passion and determination is there.

I'm not offended honestly as I know your all just trying to help and advise us that have problems with Brighthouse etc.

I can 100% say that hes very determined to fight it out in court for the charges and is as committed as me.

I know both of us ballsed it up today given in to their blackmail

but it would never happen again.

I guess my partner got scared in case they could remove his goods when they said he'd still owe last weeks payment.

if we had of had enough to pay last wks payment & today's we would definitely not of paid the charges as well.

The dryer is just over a year old.

Ive checked the lock and everything and nothing, still doesn't switch on.

I know when I ring them up Monday they'll try and wriggle out of it and say nothing we can do.

then you immediately quote the sale of goods act

and that if the positive moves are not made toward getting your issue resolved

you will be contacting trading standards etc etc the next day.

you REALLY need to put all thought of goods being repo'd out your head

they CANNOT do that without a COURT ORDER

and even then..it would NEVER BE BRIGHTHOUSE

that could do it - but a CERTIFIED BAILIFF SENT BY THE COURT>

they've never ever gone that far!!
