Plenty of 'fat cats' will be counting their wads of cash, the residents of Newham will be counting the cost.

I doubt it will create enough to even cover what it cost to organise, let alone any profit!

Life is like an echo, it all returns......The good, the bad, the false, the true......So if you give life the best you have, the best will come back to you.

as the weeks and months go by after the closing ceremony, the legacy, and the soundbites by cameron will be slowly forgotten as the true cost to the uk starts to come to light......its funny how we can always find billions to highlight the divisions in this country, yet, govt continues to state that there is no money for the sick, ill, unemployed, nhs, police, army, etc etc....zero growth, zero hope, zero jobs, mass unemployment, families struggling to put food on the table, and I could go on and on......never mind after all this at least we will have a nation of budding athletes, nothing will change

changing the status quo in this country is an almost impossible task, with nearly all political parties beholden to the capitalist society, where politicians are in the pockets of big business, whilst the rest us work for peanuts, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, short of a revolution, and i am too old for it, then nothing is gonna alter

Well if that's all Rio De Janeiro has to offer us in 4 years, I think I will give the opening and closing ceremonies a miss.

We have beat them hands down in the entertainment stakes.

If all else fails, kick them where it hurts and SOD'EM;)

Boring and predictable closing ceremony starring a load of old farts, Brian May can still rip the strings, but that hair? Get it cut mate you're an embarrassment, and who was the ugly bint trying to sing Freddy Mercury's part?

Back to normal soon, maybe Stratford will pick up a bit now the rubbish is more or less over, It's been like a ghost town these last three weeks.

IMO the country could spend every penny it has on the sick, unemployed, nhs, police etc etc but many people would still find reasons to complain about something else. so we spent a load of money on the Olympics if we hadnt that money would noit have been spent on the NHS etc etc, the olympics gave a lot of people a lot of pleasure, and TBH we as a country cannot spend all of our time worrying about people less fortunate than ourselves so it may have been a waste of money in some peoples opinions but wouldnt it be boring if we always only did the sensible, practical greatest good to the country as a whole option.

Just to say I think the closing ceremony was better than the opening ceremony

If I have been of any help, please click on my star and let me know, thank you.

Oh absolutely! Let's not give the Spoonie's or the Wheelie's a second thought, and as for the long term unemployed!! No, it's just so......Not De rigueur!

Lets spend much more time ensuring that corporate business has the annual windfall it so richly deserves, TBH I don't think they get anywhere near enough in the way of tax breaks to prop up their 'near pauper' existence.

I totally agree with you, about it being boring, lets disregard the feckless morons, and consign them to into oblivion, then we can get on with our interesting lives.
