I had an amazon seller account which was closed earlier this year, yet they continued to charge by account and card for the seller fees, I have now received the refund but I asked for compensation or goodwill gesture as to my mind they committed fraud, they have ignored this request. Where do I stand with reporting them to the police or making them take it seriously?

If I did it, I could be reported to the police for card fraud, debiting someones card without permission.

Any suggestions?

I serously wouldnt bother. A goodwill payment means just that, you cant go demanding one and as it appears you have little knowledge of Fraud law or the court system it really isnt worth the bothwer especially as it would be a small claim so you would be unable to recoup any money you spent on a solicitor.

As mentioned above, are you serioulsy implying that Amazon go out of their way to fraudulantly obtain money from their customers ?..or was it a mistake. The situation might be a bit different if they had been hounmding you for payment even after you informed them of the mistake.

I would think Amazon specifically design their billing system around making charging easy and automatic, refunds and service cancelations manual, hard and offshore to india (or mongolia), but then i'm a cynic. Do Amazon need to give you a goodwill payment to make you come back? Personally I've just had a bad experience with Amazon and will still be a customer, although I will only use a credit card in future.

Complain, follow this guide here and they MAY offer you a gesture of goodwill. Tell them that you like their site, and generally get a bargain... a little flattery. Contact the Amazon UK CEO [email protected] and let us know how they reply :)

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)
