Hi There

I am about to default on a loan i have with towercapital.co.uk

Have read some bad things about them on this forum, like them not accepting repayment plans and adding extortionate interest to loans. My loan was only for £80 interest charged £19, so in total they want £99 back, can anyone give me contact details for the organ grinder and not the monkeys at customer services?

Also any tips on what to email them would be great.

Many Thanks

Hi baileys

You will need to keep trying to negotiate. They however nearly always agree to a repayment figure in the end albeit they are never keen on monthly repayments. don't ignore them though because they are one of the few firms that will try and take you to court. Stand firm and don't let them rip you off.

Post again when you get an update from them. Keep a copy and record of ALL correspondence just in case.

Thanks guys, have emailed them tonight offering £13 for 9 months as have also tried to make payment plans with wage day advance and capital finance one. The forum says the other 2 companies are pretty much ok but read some bad stuff about tower capital so really stressing. Will keep you updated when they reply.

Also reported debit card stolen and I'm with co-op so it's just a basic account.

Oh really so you think they would take me to court over £99 that's quite worrying

with me having 2 other payday loans I don't quite know what to do. I only work part time you see so by time I paid rent council tax car etc there is practically nothing left.

In your opinion what kind of payment do you think they will accept?

Thanks guys

They would take you to court over £99. They have nothing to lose so all going to court would do would be make the amount for you to pay more.

Thinking logically, £13 per month would not even cover the interest if you could roll over etc so IMO £13 would probably not be acceptable.

At the end of the day it is what you can afford. If you are willing to go to court and show that £13 per month is all you really can afford then stick by your guns, hopefully the DJ will side with you, but personally I would try and avoid court as it will only end up costing you more. The judges have always been quite fair with me, but it still boils down to 'you borrowed the money, you have to pay it back'.

How much do you have outstanding to the other two, and how much do you have spare in ototal per month?

I owe CFO £100 and WDA £225 in total I have just under £40 spare so offered them all £13. Roughly how long have I got before tower capital apply for a ccj as I have a bonus at end of march worth roughly £120 so could just pay them in full then. I'm just getting frightened at the thought of a ccj

  • 1 year later...

I'm having problems with Tower Capital, I applied for a loan with them, they have used my debit card details to take £50 from my bank acount. They tried to take other amounts, but my partner stopped my card. They say it is for a previous debt I have with them. I have never had a loan from them, my husband did last year, but the balance was paid off. They are refusing to give me the money back, even though i did not authorise the £50 card payment

Go to your bank and demand a chargeback. Tell them that the money was taken without knowledge or permission as you have never dealt with that company before.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks
