Housing/Council tax benefit on Income support! Payments query!

Hi

I am on Income support & DLA

 

I will hopefully soon be renting privately.

 

I am allowed £419.99 a month or £96.92 a week for a 1 bedroom flat!

 

I have been told it will be payed by the calendar month, does this mean the same £419.99 a month on same day each month?

 

Just a friend applied who was on ESA & the way it was worked out was weekly & some months she was short as some months there were 5 week months!

 

Also, is it paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly?

Hi Gazmix, the payments I've seen different LA's make are fortnightly and four weekly - that's just my experience, I don't know if others do it differently. And some are more regular than others with their payments. It is also paid in arrears rather than in advance.

Does anyone know if i will get the full amount each month as my friend applied & didn't get full amount each month because of way they work it!, e.g some months are 5 week months!

 

If its PCM, does that mean i will get all!?

I would have thought so if they say it will be paid calendar monthly. But surely the best way to check would be to ask your Council rather than people on a forum who have no knowledge of the HB payment system of your Council.
