Loads of apples & plums - what else can I do???

Harvested loads of plums and apples yesterday from my Mum's garden, and already have loads of crumbles and pies in the freezer, Ive made about 5lb of plum jam and now run out of idea's what to do with the rest.

 

I must still have about 4lb of plums and about 10lb of apples!!!

 

Can anyone help me out??

Try making plum wine. I did it a few years ago on the last crop of plums before the plum tree gave up. It was delicious, thick and sweet excellent on its own or with a mixer.

 

What kind of apples? Are they like bramley's where you can make apple sauce?

Its a mix of bramley's and cox's!!!

 

The plums are the victoria plums too, mind you they have had a fair dint on the supply left as the kids have ben demolishing them!!

Definitely make the sauce with the bramleys... so easy to do and keeps for ages frozen. We also use bramleys for layering between pork belly's. Roast in the oven just add some mixed herbs

My dad makes cider with the windfall apples, very nice it is too, you can also make apple vinegar, apple chutney.

How has this thread got this far without the mention of PIES

 

Either bake em fresh or use foil trays and freeze for later baking 8-)

Make cider with the apples for sure! I've done it once before and wasn't that difficult. Pretty delicious as well- those are the right kind of apples for it I think.
