Hello everyone, I’m the new guy here and just thought I would say hello to you all.

I’ve been reading the forums on and off for a few weeks now because, as you can probably guess, I’ve got myself into a situation, nothing life threatening or anything like that, just something that I could do without in my life. I thought that there would be a couple of people on here that could guide me on the right path to what I want to achieve as some of the things I have read are a little confusing to me (easily done!)

Not sure if this is the correct section to ask for help or not but I’ll have a read of the posting rules first, but just as a guide this is what I want to get advice about;

1. HSBC managed Loans. I have had one for a couple of years but the installments I’ve made have hardly made a dent on the remaining amount. I have some general questions about that and how I go about transferring the loan, or getting rid of it completely and if I can claim anything back.

2. And lastly, just general tips on looking after money and saving it, as I’ve always been rubbish with it. I earn an OK wage but I don’t always see it through to the next month, I jst don’t understand why as I don’t have a lavish lifestyle at all!

Anyway, I really hope I will enjoy it here and I hope I can help people too.

I work in the video conferencing industry should anyone need any info on that and im a car nut too if you have trouble sleeping I can start talking about cars and that will send you to sleep!!:D:D

Anyway, I look forward o chatting with you all

Regards

Hi GTVV6 and welcome to CAG.

At the risk of stating the obvious- if there is too much month left at the end of the money, you can only be spending too much on stuff you dont really need.

Make a list of your necessary out-goings (rent/mortgage, food, car, loan repayments , credit card, council tax) and for just one month as an experiment, and try not to spend any more than you really, really have to, just to literally keep yourself alive.

Whatever is left after a month, stick in the building society and forget about it.

The next month keep in mind what you saved by not buying kak that you dont need, before emptying the ATM to pay for kak!

To reduce your credit card balance, do you have any charges you can reclaim, or PPI you didnt really ask for?

If so- reclaim them and the extra interest youve been scammed into paying.
