I would be grateful if anyone could help with my query. My daughter (at previous address) used a card on which she purchased electricity. Since leaving the address a few months ago she has recieved an electricity bill, stating it is an estimated reading. I assumed as she paid for her electricity by card and meter she would not have a separate bill to pay? Any advice appreciated, thank you.

there should be no bill?

I'd assumed that when you are on a payment meter that an electricity bill would not be sent, after all are you not paying as you go so to speak!

I have had this recently with Scottish power, Was sent a statement and showed us in £70 credit with the gas..... the next statement we get we owe them £20 ! work that out, all on pre-payment !

Called them up to be told that its due to the wholesale price going up so much, they backdated it ! Grrrr
