Loopinlouie - one thing I found with the chicken is it cooked really well BUT I wish I had put foil on the ends of the legs ;)

I didn't turn mine one bit and it cooked perfectly in no time at all :)

And the juices were amazing :D

soz when I said 8 mins that was for soft boiled

the reason for doing the chikens upside down first half, the juices get into the breast meat, and really make's it tender, Mrs Kip , Fivenecks and sheba-dog do them like that all all the time,

the chef on Ideal World, does it the same in the demo's

good tip watch ideal world when the demo the cookers you can pick up a lot of tips from the guy

and welcome to the "HC" Club LL :D

and if you do something not already described please put the recipe and pics up

the mat i highlighted ( a whole 99p lol ) a few posts back is very good addition, and the extender ring and bits from coopers does fit most of the cookers, check outside if lid it needs to be 32 cms , then it wiil fit

No probs Kip lol

I going to play another day with softboiled timings :)

But to get hardboiled had to do 10mins on 200 on high rack ;)

I tried cooking popcorn chicken in mine yesterday evening as was peckish and bar slightly overcooking it (my fault) it was so much quicker :D

Hi guys

Just found this great thread, love my JML Halogen oven and would not be without it. Although it recently broke down and I am in the process of returning it to JML! Cooking in the oven is not as much fun as the Halogen oven.

Does anyone know if you can purchase the Coopers accessory pack in southern ireland? Coopers do not ship outside the UK.

Loved all the pictures thanks.

Paul

Hi and welcome Pastor

by any chance have you got someone north of the border that could order it and pass it on maybe, you will also find similar on ebay etc , if you get stuck

and JML do the extender ring on its own anyway about £10, maybe they could inc one saving on postage when they send your fixed one back, JML staff are helpfull, drop the hint you come on this thread as few of them do read it regular,

Just had chicken number two and put a tin of cheapo potatoes in for last fifteen mins and they went lovely and crispy, like proper roasts. Must have been nice because went downstairs to retrieve bit more meat and dog had struck again, last time xmas a few years ago mind, and pinched it.

Daughter found out by nearly flying accross the floor on the little left overs.

So pooch likes her chicken better in halogen oven too.:D

Hi Kip

Thanks for the reply, dont know anyone north of the border but I will keep trying. I did buy the extender ring and more recently the lid holder, that was my only fault with the JML the lack of a holder for the lid.

I am hooked on JML products I purchased the Miricle knife set, Dualleto and a few other bits and pieces when I ordered the Halogen Oven. The knife set is brilliant and used in conjunction with the Halogen my cooking times have been decreased.

How do you cook a caserole in the Halogen oven and how long shoud it take?

Thanks for your reply and the forum is great.

to be honest never tried one really , but i would say do it 40 mins etc and then if not right do it for another 15 mins etc , and a bit more if needed

LL as for the dogs prefer food cooked in the halogen, both my are out the kitchen as soon as its put on with their typical look " feed me now "

wifes fault as they have Cumberland Sausages and Chicken ( done in the HC to reduce the fat ) she dont give them rubbish dog food etc only fresh cooker meat ( they do better than me most days :-o ) maybe I would be better laying my back with all 4 in the air :D

Hi Kip

I read somewhere perhaps even on this thread that using a pyrex caserole dish will not work as the dish obsorbs the heat, any suggestions as to what container I could use?

Thanks

Paul you can use glass no problem, they actual bowl is pyrex type glass, and as you know that gets hot :D

Mrs Kip has done sheperds pie etc in it with pyrex dishes no problem ( mind you it took me a whole day to chop the the shepherd up small enough  )
