    • There are a number of reasons why you may not have been issued a notice in the post within 14 days. If you were stopped by the police it may have been given verbally. In the case of speeding offences, the police may issue you with a conditional offer of a fixed penalty of 3 points and £100.00 fine by post or an offer of a speed awareness course. If the offence is considered too serious for a speed awareness course or fixed penalty you may be charged with an offence which normally occurs by way of the issue of a Single Justice Procedure Notice. If the vehicle within which the alleged offence took place was registered to another person or company there is technically no need for a notice to be issued to the driver. After the police have obtained details of the nominated the driver, they will normally send the notice to them, although there are no time limits within which they must do so (provided that the notice was received within 14 days by the registered keeper of the vehicle). In such circumstances, a person may receive a notice several months after the alleged offence too place but still be prosecuted. A Guide to a Notice of Intended Prosecution | Motoring Offence Lawyers the above copy n paste link has purely been copy n pasted here to inform you of the regs, which you could have done yourself by, as this is, a google search......... we do not ever recommend using such offered webservices! dont dx
    • all DYL's are subject to a TRO. looking at this newish, ever increasing as old ind units have gotten removed, estate, there are only lines on one side, on the other there is a parking lane with traffic calming through which you mention. i seriously doubt your mate has any clue what he is talking about.!! its not a private housing assoc estate. so its a public council owned road. no construction co can just decide to draw their graffiti on a road. the DYLs are certainly there pre 2016 even before his home was built. now ive had a quick look to see if the main access to royal park road has signs. there is no royle park road even on your map but there is a royal barn road which leads to where you are parked royal road has a restriction sign on the pole by the fence of the electric substation jnc with gipsy lane there does not appear to be one leading in from the other end - tesco petrol station
    • Hi All. I was driving in Stevenage down a 40 road after coming off the motor way, i noticed my car felt a little "weird" i accelerated, then slowed the car down.  Shortly after i got stopped by a manned police car with a laser. During the stop the officer stated i was doing 54 in a 40, the conversation was short, but he said i would unlikely get a awareness course and it was most likely 3 points and a fine.  Mrs thought it was a good idea to have dairy when she is lactose intolerant on date night, we just got on our way.  At the time, i didnt admit to the offence, but did say i didnt realise and had slowed down in any case. The officers chest camera was recording and on. At the stop, he asked where to send the fine to, as i knew i would be travelling to visit family up north, i provided my temporary details at that location in Yorkshire. It is now 05/05 and i haven't received anything at either my home address in Stevenage or the temporary address. 1. Is there a time limit in which paperwork needs to be sent to me. 2. Should i query the ticket as i don't want to miss any deadlines (if so who do i check with?) OR should i keep quiet. 3. Given nothing has arrived in 20 days, is there a chance of appeal if and when it comes through? Many thanks CrazeUK
    • Hi All. A family friends car was having issues when she was on a trip visiting family up north at the beginning of January.  She ended up leaving it at my friends garage in the same location, who parked it on his forecourt to investigate the issue, however he said most likely it is beyond economical repair as its a serious gearbox fault. In the meantime i replaced her car with one of my spare cars. The insurance on the car then expired in at the end of January.  When the insurance expired, I sent a paper V890 paper as i didnt have her V5 Reference number in hand to do it online (i have a copy of this).  She didnt mention she hadnt received any confirmation as she didnt know if she would get one.  She then cancelled her road tax at the end of March (i think) as she was paying by DD. She then was travelling up north so didnt get her mail until last week. She received a letter dated 09/04/2024 stating she had failed to insure the vehicle and there was a £100 fine which could be reduced to £50 if she responds by 11/05/2024.  As soon as we noticed, i got her to dig  out the V5 and SORN'd the vehicle.   My friend has been a bit slow in checking the fault, however i suspect it will still be scrapped and is still on his forecourt. Is this possible to appeal?

    • Hello,

On 15/1/24 booked appointment with Big Motoring World (BMW) to view a mini on 17/1/24 at 8pm at their Enfield dealership.

Car was dirty and test drive was two circuits of roundabout on entry to the showroom.  Was p/x my car and rushed by sales exec and a manager into buying the mini and a 3yr warranty that night, sale all wrapped up by 10pm.  They strongly advised me taking warranty out on car that age (2017) and confirmed it was honoured at over 500 UK registered garages.

The next day, 18/1/24 noticed amber engine warning light on dashboard , immediately phoned BMW aftercare team to ask for it to be investigated asap at nearest garage to me. After 15 mins on hold was told only their 5 service centres across the UK can deal with car issues with earliest date for inspection in March ! Said I’m not happy with that given what sales team advised or driving car. Told an amber warning light only advisory so to drive with caution and call back when light goes red.

I’m not happy to do this, drive the car or with the after care experience (a sign of further stresses to come) so want a refund and to return the car asap.

Please can you advise what I need to do today to get this done.

      Many thanks

    • We have finally managed to obtain the transcript of this case.

The judge's reasoning is very useful and will certainly be helpful in any other cases relating to third-party rights where the customer has contracted with the courier company by using a broker.
This is generally speaking the problem with using PackLink who are domiciled in Spain and very conveniently out of reach of the British justice system.

Frankly I don't think that is any accident.

One of the points that the judge made was that the customers contract with the broker specifically refers to the courier – and it is clear that the courier knows that they are acting for a third party. There is no need to name the third party. They just have to be recognisably part of a class of person – such as a sender or a recipient of the parcel.

Please note that a recent case against UPS failed on exactly the same issue with the judge held that the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 did not apply.

We will be getting that transcript very soon. We will look at it and we will understand how the judge made such catastrophic mistakes. It was a very poor judgement.
We will be recommending that people do include this adverse judgement in their bundle so that when they go to county court the judge will see both sides and see the arguments against this adverse judgement.
Also, we will be to demonstrate to the judge that we are fair-minded and that we don't mind bringing everything to the attention of the judge even if it is against our own interests.
      This is good ethical practice.

It would be very nice if the parcel delivery companies – including EVRi – practised this kind of thing as well.

Are you saying you paid £149.99 to Cento Client Review - or another Claims Management Company or a Debt Consolidation Company?

Has this matter gone to court and has a judge given a court order?

Can you please state the name of the Company who asked you to sign these forms?

This to me does not sound kosher and needs to be investigated ASAP.

Yes Tuttsi, i paid them and they (Cento client review Newholme ltd) send me a dept consolidation plan. According to this plan i started payments while they were handling these debits by contacting creditors they were going to arrange my claims (7 in total all against lloyds) but after two months of payment of 1400 there was no payment to none of the creditors accounts so i had to back pay them myself to stop action.

There has been no court action yet. infact they didnt even ask for my documentation which is about 3 feet high from the floor.

I didnt here from them last few weeks since the receivers came last week.

Ray, forgive me, who is Newholm Ltd? and what connection do they have with Cento Client Review?

You state that Cento Client Review sent a consilidation plan, Cento are a Claims Management not Debt Management Company, so I am at a loss as to what exactly they sent you and who and how receivers are involved. Have you assigned all your debts to Cento? or to Newholm Ltd?

Was it a consolidation loan or a DMP, did they make it clear to you that the £1400 was their fee or was this being paid to your creditors?

Can you post up the T& C's which you signed as well as any correspondence between Cento, yourself and Northolm Ltd, omitting your personal details.

I am very concerned as to what documents you have signed and we need to make some urgent enquiries and make a campaign of how to deal with this.

Can you please explain what documents you signed and did you have them checked with a solicitor.

You can PM me with this information.

Thanks

Hi Bustthematrix,

I have just joined up due to having a cold call yesterday which I fell for hook line and sinker from Centro client review, luckily I did not part with any money, i just said that it sounded just what we needed but I would need to speak to my Husband. the person who called me was Hannah Keen. she was requesting £149.99 with promises to pay it back if they couldn't help but there was no mention of the £10 for each creditor. Luckily I decided to google them and hence how I found out about this forum. Thank you all so much !!!

To you Bustthematrix, please could you DM me with the details of this kosha company as I really wanting someone to help me.:???: I am totally confused who I can trust nowadays without getting scammed, it seems that everyone is at it.

I will let everyone know how I get on.

thank you and many thanks to you all

Fair Lady:)

p.s. the conversation with Hannah ended with that she would give me a couple of days to speak to my husband and call me back. She gave me their website and also the website of claims regulations which I am unable to access so thats when i became a bit concerned. Mmmmm watch this pace and I will keep you posted.

Dear Fair lady

Sadly, I am unable to do that. The company WERE, it appears kosher until recently (or maybe they weren't but it's only now just coming out).

Anyway, it appears they promise more than they can actually deliver even though to be fair to them, they have got some good results in certain cases.

However, there is definitely a feeling of much disappointment with their work so I cannot recommend them any longer.

Hi Fair Lady

You are quite right to be cautious for the following reasons:

1. They probably cold called you as everyone that I have spoken to so far has - They are not allowed to cold call under the terms of their authorisation with Ministry of Justice.

2. If they do not willingly confirm and back up their telephone conversationin either by email or post before the £149.99 is paid how can you be certain that you have understood everything and that what they have said is backed up in writing.

3. Did they not tell you about the 30% to be paid as well.

4. They quite often tell you what sums they can recover for you when they are trying to sell their services - it is worth remembering that they are not privvy to your personal information at the time of their call to you and it is just pure guess work on their side.

Apart from anything else everything they can do for you, you can do yourself for minimal/no cost here with the help of this site. At least then all your personal information will be kept private and away from prying eyes.

I have heard of some awfull horror storries Claims regarding Management Companies in general, taking the money that has been refunded and not paying it over when the money has been received. There are well over 100 claims management companies that have had their authorisation with the MOJ either cancelled or suspended. Many of then have not been in operation yet for a year and do not have accounts filed yet at companies house.

New here so please excuse. What concerns me about CENTO. (who called me twice yesterday) is that they are asking me for £199...and not the afformentioned £149 which people are talking about on MSE, legal seagulls and here and plenty of other forums. So I asked them about this and they (a guy called Adam) said look, you know how much we charge, £199 NOT £149...thats just forum users trying to bring us down. They also mentioned you Tuttsi and tried saying you were an ex eployee trying to bad mouth them? After reading your posts, thats not how it looks to me.

Their registration to MOJ runs out in March 2010...does this just mean they'll keep you hanging on till then and take the money and run???

Id also be very interested to hear hear if POTLESS 1 recieved anything back at all?

I'm completely naive to these things, but im trying to be vigilant and open to all suggestions. It just sounded interesting to me as I have an Egg card and I believe i was missold it. i wont go into that here but if anyone can offer some help...id be much obliged.

many thanks.

Hi Jonny

If you speak to them again - you now know for sure that I am not an ex employee and would not work for such a company.

Hi everyone

I just got a call from CENTO and they asked me to pay £299.00. This looks a lot of money for what they do. I am glad I got a chance to surf around their details and found this thread.

They also say if they can't do us better financial, they would refund the money. And I asked "why don't you get the money from the NWNF arrangement". To be honest I think they are already sharing the money with the solicitors anyway.

Many Thanks

  • 1 month later...

Looks like I've just been well and truely bumped for £299 from Cento Client Review. They have called me several times now for months on end and also made the phonecall sound so urgent! Anyways cutting all that short last week came the call and I don't know what made me do it but I paid them £299 from my credit card they assured me they could get written off. They sounded so convincing and the more they spoke the more I felt burdens being lifted from my shoulders....they caught me in their trap I suppose. Anyways I decided to look more into it whilst I was filling out the paperwork because things just weren't quite ringing true. Think I'll need to be making a phonecall tomorrow morning...they did assure me I would get a full refund if I decided not to go ahead with the claims or was unsucessful. I feel so stupid. This is so unlike me to agree to something like this in the first place...no wonder I'm depressed!!

If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated I'm finding it difficult to think straight right now as I'm so angry with myself.

Hi all.

Im polish so sorry for any misspelling or any other language probs..

Just got a call from cento an hour ago and looks like made good decision not pay them money without checking them first.

They asked me to pay them £149+VAT (?). Told them to call me tomorrow as need to check them. Wonder if they call me back? Although didnt think when they have my number from. Is it cold calling?

Anyway im very happy to be here as i see just saved some money.

Is that "writting off debts" story real at all?

Link to post

Hi Pole

Yes, I believe writing off debts is real, BUT you have to choose your approach VERY VERY carefully. In my business experience, there's nothing like a good honest recommendation.

That said, here's some links to show that things ARE being done by some...

FT.com / UK - Ruling to force lenders to write off debts

FT.com / UK - Banks face loans write-off after ruling

FT.com / UK / Politics & policy - Subprime lender?s arrears deal is legal first

The matrix is intrinsically flawed. Within it is the program for it's own destruction. If you are reading this, you are in the matrix and it's days are numbered...so watch out!
