Bought a Samsung 40" LCD on 29th December 2006 for £899, from pcworld(put in here as pcworld thread is more pcs than tvs)

Recently it developed a fault where the relay would click but the tv would not turn on for a few minutes, gradually getting longer, then eventually failed to turn on at all.

Just heard from an independent engineer who confirmed that the Power supply had failed, and needs replacing at a cost of £166. (already paid £60 for inspection which will come off the bill)

They couldn't tell me what caused it other than it just failed, (no impact, AD or water damage).

What is the best course of action now, pay it and then chase DSGi for a refund, or take the estimate to them and chase them under the durability section of the SOGA?

Thanks in advance for any help

edit to add pcworld did not want to know about it when approached them before i had it inspected
