bank accounts???

Hi all, prob not in the right place but here goes anyway:) My best mate is currently using my bank account for his wages to be paid in to because his credit history is completley shocking and he doesn't think it'll be possible for him to get a bank account with anyone,he has already tried a couple of banks and they have said no. trouble is that i'm emigrating to australia and should be there in about 9months time so am not too sure what he'll do if i close my account here? i guess i could just let him carry on using the account as its only a basic account anyway. good news for me is when we go to oz our credit history starts a fresh so i won't have to worry about getting another account etc.. which will make a refreshing change!!

does anyone know of any banks that would be willing to give him an account so that he can start building a good credit history??

any help will be great!

He should be able to get a basic saving account with any bank.

 

This is not a current account though and will have limitations on it.

 

I would not recommend leaving your account open for him to use no matter how good a mate he is.

Ive opened new accounts at natwest that gives you a solo debit card and halifax which gives you a visa electron debit card .

Hi there, i think he and his late wife had a debt with halifax but if you think he might get an account with natwest with bad credit then i shall get him to try there.

Otherwise Co-op Cashminder - SO & DD's and debit card. You can apply on-line

Its NatWest Step account with Solo Debit Card.

Nationwide Flex Account used to be ok Debit Card & Cheque Book,not sure if they do credit check on that now tho.

Wife tried to get CO-OP Cashminder account but was refused because of bad credit history.

Must admit i have also tried this account before as well and i was refused because of my bad credit history.
