  1. Hi all, This is a query for me, regards to a couple of outstanding invoices that have now been paid. I received an email from Stirling Debt Recovery on behalf of their client Thompson Local for two invoices for £162 each and another invoice for £60. I have contacted Thompson Local direct and have paid £324 to them this morning, and will pay the final £60 for end of contract fee next Friday. Thompson Local stated at first that I needed to contact Stirling DC, I said absolutely not, I don't do any correspondence with a DCA whatsoever, and asked if Thompson Local were refusing to take payment that was owed to them. Of course they said no, but needed to contact Stirling as to what to do. I get a phone call a couple minutes later back from Thompson, they are quite happy to take £324 today and £60 next Friday, but have said additional charges by Stirling will need to be paid directly to them. These charges are listed as reasonable debt collection cost under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998, of 10% of the total outstanding debt, plus late fees of £40. Now I know the general instructions about DCA's is to just ignore them, especially when they don't actually own the debt themselves, as in this case, but as it is a commercial debt, can they still chase me for these additional charges ? Any advice would be gratefully received. Cheers, Bloke199

  3. Hi I received an earnings arrestment through the post on Monday from Stirling park for £625, I've contacted them asking to cancel it and they've said its been cancelled as I owe £70 less too which is stated in the arrestment. I'm just wondering if they do arrest my wages will the £625 be taken at once? I only get £1270 every 4 weeks so it's a lot too loose in one week I'm really worried I've called 4 times and they say it's been cancelled and to continue paying £70 from next Friday like I usually do but I don't know whether to believe them or not any help would be appreciated thank you
  4. Hello, at my wits end with this, i sold a car 18th AUG 2014 the new owner went into a bus lane in Glasgow city centre on 12th SEPT 2014. The council contacted DVLA one week after and they provided them with my details, because their system was still showing me as the registered keeper. For over a year now and i have been fighting Glasgow city council and stirling park(debt recovery) over this mistake, i have provided DVLA headed documents to show that i wasnt the registered keeper at the time of the contravention yet they STILL chasing me for the debt. They have no right chasing me for money that i ain't liable for as far as iam aware?? Can someone please help, so i can get these people off my back?
  5. On the 13th of April 2012 I recived a letter from Stirling part Sheriff Officers stating that I owed East ayrshire council(EAC) 2500 in council tax between the dates of 2003/04 up to 2007/08 . I contacted Stirling park saying that the info they had was wrong and to get the referance numbers so I could contact the council on this . On Monday 21st may 2012 I recived a letter from EAC saying they agreed in part with me and I now owned them £1641.36 . The same day Stirling park carried out a Sheriff officer visit to my house . Theire paper work has the new amount of £1641.36 on it as my letter stated that EAC would contact stirling park to inform them of there new demands . My questions are 1, if I ask to set up a direct debit can Stirling park refuse the amount I offer to pay 2 , as Stirling park recived the new paperwork from EAC but still peformed a sheriff visit that they are charging me £75 for can I reject the charge for this as they knew I was dealing with the council 3, the tax owned was Joint with a former partner who I am no longer in contact with . How can I ensure she pays her half rather than me paying it all any help greatly recived
