  1. Hi Im not sure if this is correct place to post this so I'll be brief and wont object if someone moves my post to the correct place! I have done a DSAR and noticed on my Bank Statement in 2007 that a cheque I wrote was presented on Tuesday 02/01/2007 and it bounced. It was further presented on the Friday 05/01/2007 and bounced again.* 02/01/2007** *Tuesday 05/01/2007** *Friday If cheque clearing took 4-5 days at that time, how could it be possible that a cheque could be represented 3 days after bouncing in the first place. I am mystified! Please can anybody shed any light on this. thank you
  2. have tried to find the answer myself but its painful, a cycle lane with a solid white line means no parking in it or driving? but with in the specified hours ? if there are no hours denoting any times does that mean its in force 24/7 ? i havnt got a ticket but our local council has ripped up our trafffic islands and speed reduction stuff to insert very wide cycle lanes, taking out 10 parking spaces along the road, by the town centre, people were wondering if you could just park along the road ?
  3. Have had letter from them to state in future they are switching to 6 monthly billing instead of quarterly. No doubt there will be a large range of those who won't be able to pay - unless you go with their preferred method of payment, Direct Debit.
  4. Hi, I obtained a bicycle through my company's Cycle to work scheme, however after about six months the rear right side seat stay snapped. The cycle provider replaced the frame. Then last week I noticed a crack in the new frame,in the exact same spot. I'm not sure I want yet another new frame, I've paid this bike off in full Do you think I'd be best asking for a refund,or a suitable new replacement, but different model? Thanks
  5. Have I just heard that right, cycle super highway being planned for the A40 in London. Who is thinking of this stuff, that is so dangerous..
  6. Hi all. My wife has a Very account and as the only breadwinner I have to make the payments. I get paid monthly yet they have a 28 day cycle. This is obviously designed to move the payment date 2 or 3 days closer to the start of the month each month. Unfortunately monthly paid customers, probably most of us, do not get to change our pay days, therefore the date payment is due eventually falls before the monthly pay day. This is to ensure that a large number of people have to pay a £12 fee for 'late payment' when they deliberately cause this to happen. It also affect the credit rating as this shows as a missed payment when they have changed the date to some time before pay day. My question is, if enough people get together can we change this practice? I have tried contacting the Financial Ombudsman Service and they say they have no authority. Thanks.
  7. Hi all, My colleague offered me a cycle surgery gift card when I left my previous company. While working abroad, I emailed cycle surgery ltd (using the email at back of gift card) to explain that I was traveling for a year. The email bounced back. Now cycle surgery tells me they don't review/extend gift card. why a gift card has an expiry date? it is just a "right to take people money". There is no need for a expiry date. I want to complain or make an action on christmas day. Please I need some advices, Many thanks, Vydei
  8. Had a cycle penalty from 2011, sent a £30 cheque which was sent back with a blank letterhead from HMCS. Then went to court, but couldn't attend and requested more time. Had correspondence with HMCS till March 2012. Was out of the country end of last year then at Christmas, had a call from Marston Baiiffs asking for money. Sent a form back to HMCS but have not heard back. Last week Monday, had a bailiff knock the door at 6am demanding £575. Asked till Friday to resolve. Then had death in the family on the same day and asked for one week extension which the bailiff agreed to. Was waiting for the court to come back to me or I would have called the bailiff to try and make an arrangement. This morning found my car had been clamped. Won't remove clamp without £575 payment. What can I do?
