This included a CPR 31.14 on xx/xx/xxxx sent via post. 5. The defendants stress that they acted in good faith to settle the outstanding balance, as evidenced by the confirmation received from the claimant. Any subsequent demands for additional payments are unwarranted and contradict the claimant's previous acknowledgment of settlement. 6. Pursuant to OFGEM code of back billing rules the alleged charges relate to charges which have not been bi...
  3. ...I live in a student house, with 5 tenants, unihomes is our utilities provider, who we each have a direct debit set up with and have paid each bill every month. Two letters were sent in my name by BWLegal saying I had two outstanding payments due adding up to over £3500, I have tried to contact british gas (as that is apparently our houses provider) as well as Unihomes. Nothing has helped and BWlegal are pursuing legal action if these debts are not resolved by the 1st May. What do I do? I've called Bwlegal when i bring up that the debt isnt for me and for unihomes they hang up on me. so I am stressed and do not kn...

Despite sending invoices and payment reminders and attempting to contact the customer through letters, email and phone calls, we are yet to receive sufficient payment to clear the areas and believe legal action is the necessary next step to resolve this " I have already uploaded POC above for your reference....

  14. ...une 2023, my friend "A" and I shared a house in the UK with eight other people. We relied on Huddle Utilities for gas and electricity, with each of us paying around £45 per month to "X", our lead tenant, who managed the bills. However, in November 2022, "X" and three others moved out, leaving three new tenants we didn't know. Despite this change, we continued making our payments as usual to "X" replacement tenant,"Y" who handled payments on behalf of the house. Furthermore, Huddle changed the account number a few months after the lead tenant "X" left and backdated bills with the new account number for the same months, creating con...

  16. hi guys, Do update on status on what happened, me and my roommates are going through something similar and this is helpful information to understand.
  17. ...Andy - yes I can kind of see how that appears. All utilities were turned off/ disconnected 5y ago. But they all remained in my name - which I was fine about as one needs utilities bills to prove one exists. The property should have sold obviously within 6-8w and I would have been given £s and moved on with a new address / new utilities. But that didn't happen and so now there's other issues about s/c and consumption over 5y (by lender). At least it's provable I haven't been there and didn't exchange the old for new meter I'm not sure I do have everything in hand. But I try...
  18. ...Accrued costs - such as standing charges and consumption on utilities that were turned off 5y ago- is part of my legal proceedings claim heading to trial. 5y have passed. Unauthorized works over a period of 1y were carried out. The utilities were turned on again. There should be no consumption but there is Paying nominal £s/month keeps the utility companies at bay (before I get the otherside in legal proceedings to pay up for their consumption). But BG has taken the step to appoint BW. And now I have to deal with it...
  19. ...£40, sometimes £70, mostly £10. They say I owe apx 1200 The issue is that I wanted to keep utilities in my name until legal proceedings on the property were completed. I didn't expect them to last >5y. One needs bills to prove who one is - and I am not registered anywhere else and am still the legal owner - even if not living there. I have asked BG to provide a breakdown of what the sum now relates to - ie does the total relate to the arrears or miscellaneous costs...

  21. ...ou from the tenancy from the date new tenants move in and that you will be responsible for rent and utilities until new tenant moves in is sadly mostly correct. The reason I say mostly correct is for the following reasons: 1. You have a Signed Tenancy Agreement and the Landlord can keep you to it if no break clauses in that Agreement. 2. Yes the Landlord can demand rent payments up until a new tenant moves into the property. 3. As for Utilities only if you are still living in the property if you move out before a new tenant is in place and have properly notified the Landlord and they have agreed under that recent update...

The water company came and carried out their investigation and instructed the Owner to move his tenants out as the blockage line was under his conservatory. This was around May 2021. The Owner was not able to move his tenants out to my inconvenience, and after several months wait, I was written to by the water company that they have decided to divert the sewage line into the opposite direction of the street and that they will pay me incidental cost resulting from inconvenien...
