I am having the same problem - I emailed the post office, this is their reply.....

To trace if a Postal Order has been cashed you would need to complete a P58

form available from any Post Office® branch. When you’ve completed the form

hand this in at the Post Office® and this will be forwarded to Royal Mail

to investigate.

Alternatively you can send the P58 form and the receipt for the postal

orders to:

Postal Order Group

PO Box 168

Chesterfield

S49 1ZL

It is recommended that you keep a copy of the receipt for your own records.

If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us

again. Please reply via the website www.postoffice.co.uk as a reply sent to

any other email address will not receive a response.

If you need any further help with Post Office® products and services, you

can call 0845 722 33 44 between 8.15 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30

am to 5.30 pm on Saturday. You can also access information at

www.postoffice.co.uk, the official Post Office® website.

Thanks for the info. Even though I've not got confirmation of delivery by track and trace, at least I've got some 'proof' now ones I sent recently were received and 'banked'.

I phoned the 2nd number on the list this morning and the woman who answered was very abrupt with me.

"We are not a track & trace service you know", she said.

She still checked 5 Postal orders for me though!!!

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye :D

i 'lost' 5, all regestered to a prison, crossed, made out to the governor. the run around is endless.

i registered here to track down the reference to freedom of information letters (plus i want my bank charges reversed - £75 for 75 p ),

i need the wording, anyone out there?

intend to claim under one form for all letters 'progressing'; royal mail don't, you see, lose things they are still 'progressing'. plus i have adhd and the forms for all these bodies take no account of the difficulties filling in forms - plus royal mail say the form has to be done in english

- i think i'll get my step-grandmother to fill it in in welsh. who 'owns' the po?

the counter staff pass me back to royal mail.

i also intend to make one claim as the other 4 were but replacements, and as a disabled person with better things to do, and the right to work 15 hours a week or £85 i'm claiming for that.

sounds better than the six first class i read - and since registering can't find -. any criticism of this whole approach would be welcome, any advice likewise.
