MJ - any updates? sounds like we are still 'neck & neck'!! Still no court bundle from Wragge - another daft offer & my favourite yet.... a cover letter saying that they have replied to my default judgement request stating that a copy of their response to the judge is enclosed - guess what? No letter enclosed!! lol! Even the lady at the court said that they didnt seem to know what they where doing!

Hi there,

I love it ... what incompetenceicon10.gif

Sent a second "nudge" to Wragge by email and R/Delivery on Friday and taken a copy down to the court. Also enclosed with the court copy a copy of letter sent to the judge asking for judgement by default which I've never had a reply to (I wrote this nicely on the copyicon12.gif) , together with a copy of the judge's Order. Wrote "Urgent" on the envelope.

Plan to ring the court mid week to see if any progress and will probably ring Wragge (not sure yet).

Keep me posted and I'll regularly update on here.

hi im claiming £3400.00 and got cheque back for £995.00 i sent cheque back and now awaiting court date. you were saying about your interest well i havnt claimed for mine is it too late. im a bit confused how to do it

You're entitled to add 8% statutory interest at the court filing stage and, as far as I know, it should be added then. Some people claim for compound interest, i.e. they try to claim back the same rate of interest the bank charges them (something like 27%), though this is quite complicated and sometimes unsuccessful I gather.

I'm really not sure if you can add interest on at this stage. I'd recommend ringing the court up to ask them, unless anyone else can adviseicon5.gif

Just had a call from my SIL ... she had a note through her letterbox late pm today (when she was out) to say there's a letter that she has to sign for at the P/O. She's not expecting anything and can only think it might be something from either Wragge or the court:shock:

Very weird time for the Royal Mail to deliver anything ... no second post on a Saturday any more, so what's going on:confused:

Also, only sent latest letters out on Friday (though emailed to Wragge as well) so, if it something relevant, someone's working very quickly and it would have to be Wragge I think as delivery to the court was late Friday.

Probably nothing at all to do all this, but you never know:rolleyes: Can't wait 'til Monday ... I'll report back.

Thanks both ... just tried to ring and she's not there, perhaps she's gone down to the Post Office:rolleyes: Can't remember if she's at work this morning, don't think so. Left a message for her to let me know ASAP.

Will report back as soon as I know. Whoops, sorry, just realised that by posting this you probably think I know what it is:rolleyes:

False alarm everyone ... turned out to be something from the Social Security:rolleyes: I'll ring the court tomorrow/Wednesday and (nicely) try and get over to them that there's really no need for this to go to court and they ought to get their a***s into gear and prioritise a bit more.

Loathe to ring Wragge's and start haggling at this stage, as the full amount is probably not far away if the court do their job in time and get them to pay up. Soooo frustrating ....

Just rung the court again (as suggested by them last week) to find out if/when the judge is going to reply to request for judgement by default letter.

I was told that all bank charges cases are being referred to another District Judge, who is with them today and will be going through them all (hopefully:rolleyes:) this afternoon. Apparently, if I ring back tomorrow, they should be able to let me know what's happening, i.e. if I'll get a reply or if it's court in two weeks' time.

I'll report back tomorrow ...

gosh Mimijane - yours seems to be the longest story- they certainly are dragging their heels on yours . I bet you will be so relieved when it is over - sometimes I think it backfires on them when they think we will buckle because it goes on so long - sometimes it does the opposite and makes you more determined.

Agreed, it's quite terrifying for a while, but you do become stronger as time goes on, as we all know (not that all the "fright" goes away though:rolleyes:).

I've only ever had the one offer (near the beginning) and, yes, it does seem to have taken for ever ... getting on for 8 months now:shock: Whichever way it goes, it will all be over by 2 weeks today:shock:
