Royal mail item lost in post @Royalmail

Recommended Posts

The Royal Mail lost a relatively large parcel in the post, which was sold on Ebay.

The item sold for £64.93 + £8.19 shipping. However, I've just noticed the compensation is only up to £50.

I'm waiting to for date to be able to make a claim; however, the tracking merely states "accepted at post office.

Obviously, I will have to refund the buyer the full amount,  I'm already losing money, as I have paid ebay fees. I was paid £66.32 by ebay.

I will have to pay back the seller £73.12

Assuming the post office don't try and get out paying anything at all, and pay me back £50  compensation and my postage of £8.19, I'll out of pocket, let alone the time and inconvenience.

Where do I stand legally here please ? Thanks in advance.
