I sent a package of some boots (after selling them on a well known trading site that begins with E) from a main depot in Exeter on 11.12. The post office claimed via their automated email system that they tried to deliver packge on the 12/12 (which they didnt do as the local postman to the buyer said they had nothing on record - and to be fair next day delivery on second class is not a thing!). I changed delivery to a post office local to the buyer. The post office confirmed that the redirection was complete and confirmed it would be delivered on Saturday 16.12 to the said post office. The buyer even went to the agreed post office office on the 16.12 but they could not find anything. The trail then went cold and I had to refund the money to the buyer (which was the right thing to do I hasten to add). Now I have no money and the boots are in the ether.

I will start a claim after waiting two weeks. Welcome anybodies thoughts.

Firstly, please could you space your posts a little bit more. It's difficult to read solid blocks of text on small screens – especially telephones.

Have you gone through the post office complaints system yet?

They are almost bound to knock you back so you may as well start preparing your letter of claim.

If you haven't heard from them in about 10 days or if you have had a rejection then we will send the letter of claim and then you will have to prepare your particulars of claim.

When you are ready post a draft letter of claim here

Hello,

Some here's some generic advice assuming it's not got a "delivered" scan.

You will need to fill in this form https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/webforms/claim

Once you have done this leave it about a month and you'll normally get a cheque in the post.

If you don't hear back after a month you can drop their twitter help page a message and they'll be happy to help you confirm the status - their twitter page is actually very good for customer service.
