My wife, a national of a country in SE Asia, are planning to relocate to the UK after more than 15 years living in SE Asia.

When I moved here I had a number of debts that I was servicing, but finally gave up and stopped paying, the last one became SB in 2016, and I've heard nothing from the serial chasers since well before SB, though there is an unsatisfied CCJ from 2005, and I've never heard anything from them.

We are planning to return at some stage in 2023, and I suspect that once I have a bank account, or apply for a phone or internet contract they will start hassling me again, though we're planning on settling in a totally different part of the country.

Is there anything I should be doing to protect myself, maybe ensuring that anything we buy is totally in my wifes name?

Thanks in advance

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
