Hi everyone
We bought a car 14 days ago From Chobham Central Garage using Blue Motor Finance( hire agreement).

Straight away we noticed a problem- judder when the car accelerating between 1st and 2nd gear .

We called an automatic gearboxes specialist and he said it’s possibly coming from the gearbox but he doesn’t do this kind of gearboxes .

We informed Nathan ( who sold the car) and we was offered to fix the problem .

We left the car with him and 2 days later he said that the transmission mount was changed and the car is tested and ready to go .
Unfortunately we realised that the problem is still there.

he offered us to attend the nearest garage and to find out exactly where problem is and they will cover the cost of repair. we did this and the specialist said he believes the problem comes from faulty clutch in the gearbox but they also don’t do these gearboxes.

At this point we decided to reject the car because of the serious problem about which we weren't aware before the purchase.
Nathan said , no problem we can do this and he transferred us to “his customer service “ Alex, who contacted us through  [email protected]

We informed the finance company for our decision and later on they said there will be investigation because the other side ( trader ) wants to repair the car instead .

We contacted Citizen Advice and opened a case .

Also we was advised to send a letter which said that we want to reject the car under Consumer Rights Act 2015 .

Of course Alex said that they are not agree. We contacted The Motor Ombudsman- they can’t help us as the company is not registered with them .

Citizen Advice told us the we can send now Letter Before Action ( before take them to the court) .

They also said we have to deal with finance company, not the trader because we have hire agreement with them .

And here we are … I don’t know what we need to do next .

Any advice will be appreciated.

I wish i had of seen all this before ! i purchased a bmw 5 series last month drove the car for a week and then the problems came to light.

ive had 2 garages take a look and both quoting over 3k worth of work and both said that the garage would of been aware of these problems before selling the car.

been trying to arange with "alex" to return the car with not much luck. as i cant drive the car hes told me i have to pay to get the vehicle recovered to them so they can get there in house mechanic to diagnose it. this is the same mechanic who serviced it before i collected the vehicle and fitted the airfilter incorrectly and flooded the car with oil.

im now trying to contact them but the numbers i have are now dead and no one is responding to my emails.

honestly dont know where to go from here !!!

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Even if the garage was not aware of it when they sold it – they would still be liable.

I'm afraid that "Alex" is associated with their so-called motor complaints function which passes itself off as some kind of independent arbiter but in fact is simply part of this operation.

I'm sorry that you've seen this only now – and it's going to be very tricky to deal with.

Can you tell us exactly where you bought it from. Their names and their addresses seem to change from time to time.

Tell us what you know about Alex? Have you got any access to any other names?

Layout the whole story in a bullet pointed chronological way. Give us names, addresses, price paid, mileage – et cetera.

How did you pay? I suppose that either you paid by cash or you paid by bank transfer
