Annonymouse phone calls increase

Has anyone noticed that since OFCOM has mentioned more fines being applied to those making unsolicited marketing calls, that there has been an increased number of 'witheld number calls' ?

 

When you do 1471, it says that the last person who called you witheld their number, when in the past, there was a telephone number, which if it was real, you could have used in a complaint.

 

I have my phone always on answerphone and I only pick up if I know the person calling. People I know leave a message or know I will only pick up, if I hear a voice when the answerphone recording starts. Most people I know do the same, as they cannot be bothered with answering marketing calls.

 

I am on TPS, but still get phone calls most days.

 

Companies making these marketing calls will continue, but they will now be more careful.

Anonymous and fake caller ID should be banned. There is no justification for businesses to use anonymous or fake ID.

 

Fortunately, I get very few cold calls. Perhaps because I refuse to give out my telephone number to all and sundry.

I've only given my number out to 3 people I think it is. Most of the phone calls I get are about bloody PPI.

I am registered with TPS but it seem to make no difference as I keep getting nuisance calls, they start by saying, dear customer, banks such as, at which point I put the phone down

but, it doesnt quite work like that! they still call.

and the issue of those fake caller id's/internationals needs to be addressed. surely the technology exists by now.

and, why do they charge for the 'anon call reject' service when its free for a caller to withold their number! sneaky charge there.

This raid has not stopped Hothouse Energy or the PPI reclaim ******s from calling. There is obviously more than one company engaged in the business of harassing private individuals ober the telephone with their automated systems.

 

The sooner pre-recorded messages and anonymous dialling is banned, the sooner we can track down the people behind it and re-educate them in the errors of their ways.

I am now also fed up of these calls, " hello, dear customers of Llloyds, Barclays, blah blah, why be registered with TPS if it makes no difference, I also get texts on my mobile from companies I dod not know and my mobile is also registered with TPS!

I'm needing a new Truecall after my dog chewed the wires on the old one, got a call on my mobile yesterday and the only thing I could make out was 'PPI' the rest was in shocking broken english.

Can't remember, it was a while ago dx, I got in touch with Truecall and they said it could not be replaced.

Dx forget the rubbish I just posted, seems I did get a replacement from Truecall for £5 (found my old thread) just have to find the Truecall now, god that was two years ago !!!
