hello,

About 7 months ago, my Mum took a 24 month contract on a 3 dongle for mobile broadband.

The main place where she would use this is when she is away on holiday.

When she is away on holiday, she can not get the modem to work.

I could have told her it wouldn't work since it is very difficult to get a mobile phone to work there. (rural valleys)

when my mother found this out, she tried to cancel her contract without any luck.

i then spoke for her to try to get the contract cancelled.

dealing with their call centre is not very good since their staff can not understand that 'mobile broadband' is imo mobile.

... each staff i spoke with attempted to take my parents postcode to check signal strength

- they could not understand that the dongle was for use as described, ie - mobile!

following up this complaint with 2 letters - result is letters are ignored.

am i right in thinking that a dongle sold as mobile broadband should be mobile broadband

and not having a postcode check on the house,

making it mobile broadband providing that you are within your house?

is there any chance on getting this contract ended with 3?

anyone within 3 i can write to who does not ignore complaints?

thanks in advance for your hepl

yea dump the CEO an email.

you should be able to cancel with a minimum cancellation charge

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

hello dx.

they say that the charge is the remaining term of the contract.

.. either the contract can be cancelled and the remaining months paid in one lump sum,

or the contract can be carried on and paid monthly.

either way, i think it is unfair.

mobile broadband should be as it says and not tied to a persons postcode.

sure in some areas it will not work,

but my mum did say in the shop the area she wanted to use it in

and ideally the shop should have checked that area instead of her home area.

i'll email the CEO as you said. [email protected]

i have no intention of arguing with this CEO... unlike another..
