What I have said is what the DWP look for.

 

You should have appealed.

 

What you said is incorrect. For middle rate care you need to show you need FREQUENT help throughout the day - 5-10 times a day is what they are looking for. For night time care (without day time needs) you need repeated help (at least twice) or prolonged help (more than 20 minutes).

 

For low rate care you either need to pass the cooking test, or need help for at least an hour a day.

 

I think you're getting the criteria mixed up.

Having argued many many DLA recons and appeals I can tell you that regardless of what is written as meaning 'frequent', needing help three separate times in a day is not going to get a middle rate care award at Tribunal (unless substantial help is required each time). What is written and what is accepted in the real situation of a Tribunal is often quite different.

 

Oh, and significant period was what was written for low rate care.

Does any know of an email address for income support / incapacity benefits ?

I'm have my usual speech issues and have just noticed they have given me £50 less for this month ..
