Hi All

Have finally bit the bullet and sent our first letter requesting all data etc. Received a goodwill gesture offer of £650 with a list of charges going back to 2001 totalling £1800+. They claim the request for all info is not relevant to our complaint  Not too sure whether to accept this or take it further. Any feedback would be great.

Brilliant site. Very helpful. Our thanks to all

Why would you want accept approximately one third of what they rightly owe you? this is your money remember, they all try this one and hope you'll accept, if they were confident they had done nothing wrong, why would they be making an offer? May i suggest you read the relevant claims for your bank then post your own thread in that forum where you will get plenty of support from people who have already been there.

Good luck x

Hello Classmate, welcome to the family. (Do I detect a hint of Arthur Askey, there?)

Your next step is to send the preliminary request letter which can be found in the templates library.

If you follow, faithfully, the well-tried and tested methods on this site, you WILL win.

On the other hand, ad-lib or do your own thing and the results may not be what you expected.

Do it right and you'll get the lot.

Good luck with your claim.

If this has been useful to you, please click on the scales at bottom left of post. Thanks.

At the end of the day it is up to to you what you want to do! Only you know how your own finances are!! However, if you look at it, as though the banks (or ifs it easier - job bloggs down the pub) has taken the money off you...would you just expect one third back?

No I think not.. i know thought its nice when they wave that big nice cheque at you - when you dont expect it back in the first place.

I was rather naughty at time...I kinda knew I was going to go over drawn....but...I acted foolishly and irresponsibly.

The banks ....they act unlawfully - that is different!

Just follow the threads and enjoy yourself as well as trying to get your money back!!!

It can be frustrating at times, but remember there are others in the same boat as you and having a sense of humour will help you along!!!

Look for the bank you are claiming against and post your thread in there - thats is the best advice I can give you!!! Read other peoples threads and try to find someone who is at the same stage as you!!! You may find it a great comfort when things hard and frustrating!!

If you ever get stuck dont be afraid to ask!! We have all been there (me included - and I still get stuck)!!

Good luck!!
