Admins: There maybe an old thread on here about this debt on old Visa card.

I have been paying a monthly nominal sum to natwest since 2008 approx.

I have moved, advised Natwest of my new address and also made a CCA request to Natwest.

I have been getting monthly statements from them, the debt has not been sold on! I have now stopped paying pending their response if any.

I sent the CCA request to them on 19th September 2023, with a £1 PO duly endorsed on the back "only to be used for CCA request", I used the wording as suggested on here.

Today I received a statement, sent to my old address, redirected by Royal Mail to my new address. Statement dated 28th September. It shows the £1 payment made as a deduction from the debt.

Any thoughts or advice as to how to proceed: do nothing until the CCA request is responded to?,

remind them of the notation on the reverse of the PO?,

remind them of my change of address?

Thanks for reading

When was the card originally taken out?

The chances of Natwest having an original copy of your CCA Agreement are basically 0, especially for a debt that old.

It's a shame you've let the statute barred date run to infinity with this one.

When did you move and when did you inform Natwest of your new address?

We could do with some help from you.

No DX not Mastercard 1985 debt, this one Visa probably taken out around 1990? will have to search my old files.

Lolerz: Moved from Old address in January 2023, of no fixed abode until July 2023, advised Natwest September 2023 of new address. I realise about the statute barred situation.

Another factor with these both Natwest cards, since opening both Mastercard and Visa, and even when they were being used before debt problems, neither of them were ever shown on my credit files, and so were not shown ever as defaulted!

The Mastercard account was sold to Cabot some years ago, and has been chased by Wescot up until I requested a CCA , same date as Visa request, September 19th.

Should add, no statements ever received from Cabot for the Mastercard account

Thanks

  • dx100uk changed the title to Old 1990 Natwest Visa card Debt - still paying still with Natwest - CCA time?

OK thanks,

I thought that they did sell the Mastercard debt?

I had both Natwest visa and mastercards.

I was paying nominal sums to both, they were sending me statements, then the Mastercard statements stopped and I had a letter from Cabot, but Natwest still sent Visa statements, nothing from Natwest or Cabot on the Mastercard.

Thanks
