Evening all.

I have been constantly harassed by mmf to the point that I have had to change my phone number

after receiving 3-4 text messages per day and constant phone calls.

They took an age to start writing to me but I finally have something in writing inviting me to make an appointment with them.

The alleged debt is from wageday advance.

I have no intention of making an appointment with them or telephoning them

as I have read that everything needs to be in writing.

I have seen on another website that states if I choose I can simply refuse to do business with them

and ask them to refer the alleged debt back to to the original creditor. I am not sure though if this is an American policy or not.

my question is

do I have the right in the uk to write a letter and state the above?

Thanks in advance.

By the way I have every intention of paying the alleged debt but not to mmf as they are absolutely the pits.

MMF are the lowest of the low. There are literally thousands of people being harassed just like you are. Hold tight and hopefully Brigadier will pop in and give you an excellent letter to get them off your back.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Another question I wanted to ask was I have been looking over old emails from wda. I have managed to find my loan agreement but can't find the credit agreement. Could someone explain to me what the difference is please. Sorry if this question seems obvious.

Credit agreement would be the app form, plus terms and conditions of the loan. Loan agreement is basically them telling you that youve been accepted, and the conditions of which the loan is governed.

Hmm, I am assuming from the lack of replies that I may well have no choice other than to deal with these people. From what I have read about mmf there is no way on earth I want to give these people my banking information...anyway

Please could someone point me in the right direction for a good template for income and expenditure and also any guidelines on how little you are allowed to allow for things such as food.

Also after an 8yr relationship my significant other feels ready to actually live with me. ;). When this happens I take it I will have to include his income as well. Is this correct?

Thank you x

Dont fall for their threats. They dont care about you at all. They only care about money. Hold tight and hopefully brig can advise a letter to deal with the harassment and threats. He regularly checks this forum so hang tight

Sorry :( just confused and scared tbh. I had a really nasty experience with a marston bailiff last year which has left me unable to trust. I found a lot of information on mmf but I can't find anything that says if I am able to get them to refer back to original creditor. I know everyone gives up thier time to freely advise. I just felt like I was being ignored. I realise that is my feeling. X

MMF are NOT bailiffs. At all. Nor will they ever be.

I do understand how you are feeling. I think there are many other MMF threads with pretty much the same issues.

I will have a rummage and see if anyone can pop in and give you some advice.

I rather suspect that if the account has been transferred then you might not be able to have it returned.. although did I not read on another thread that there is some connection between MMF and the PDL companies.

Rest assured they ARE NOT bailiffs and cannot simply turn up on your doorstep.

Were you in a payment arrangement with the original creditor prior to MMF getting their stikky mitts on the account ?

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi all

My situation is this: had a quick quid pdl in December 2008 I had some financial difficulties and emailed them to arrange a payment arrangement. I sent lots of emails and had no reply from them then I had an email saying they were passing to debt collectors. Had a few emails from one debt collectors but no letters then all went quiet.

I was being chased by MMF for a different pdl that was written off and contacted the company that said a mistake had been made so MMF stopped and straight away began chasinge for the quick quid one!

I have set up a debt management plan through step change and yet MMF still persist on pestering me day in day out. I've had messages about Mike the doorstep collector coming and they call from mobiles and different landline numbers 3, 4 or sometimes 5 times a day. Then there's the texts. It's all getting a bit annoying now and I feel like I'm being harassed. It's non stop every day all day. Phone calls, emails, texts and messages. Is this right? Please help they are really getting me down. Can anyone provide any help??

Thanks in advance.
