HASTINGS DIRECT should be called [edit] THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS DIRECT

We are having the same experience as the people in this thread.

Our car was hit by another driver whilst we were stationary at lights. I suffered whiplash and bad back. They admitted full liability. We contacted Hastings who aranged a courtesy car but then forgot to inform Carpenters solicitors for 3-4 weeks (I was even suggested to be a liar by the customer service assistance whose name I have got for complaints proceure when I said that we had received only 1 letter at all asking for the log book during the entire claim and had not heard anything about solicitors or anything else to do with the car or accident.

They have now made us an offer. We paid £3000 for the car 14 months ago and they have offered us £1600 minus £200 excess. We have looked at like for like and we are talking £2000 upwards. We are not wanting to make money or gain more, we just want a fair price for an accident that wasn't our fault.

I have spoken to Hastings again today and was told at one point to be quiet as he was still talking. Needless to say I put the phone down.

I rang back and spoke to someone else who said that the value that the car is insured for (the £3000 we paid for it) is not how they base their quotes initially an it doesnt determined the price we are initially quoted for insurance or have any bearing in the event of a claim?!?!? So why does the value that you give for a car alter the premium??

The customer assistants (1 or 2 exceptions) are rude, not interested, and unhelpful

Anyone would think that we are claiming off Hastings Direct. they make us feel like we are the guilty party

THEY SHOULD BE ACTING IN OUR INTEREST.....THATS WHAT WE PAY THEM FOR...NOT TRYING TO [edit] US, THEIR CUSTOMERS!!

I would love to know how much they claim from the other parties insurance for our car...£3000 perhaps!

We will not go near them with a barge pole in future and I tell everyone I know to stay clear.

The worst insurance company in the world

Their satff should have time shadowing Royal Sun Alliance, or NFU. they will show you how a claim should be dealt with!

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
