I was walking to work today 08/03/12 and slipped on a wooden bridge that was very slippery and untreated I hurt my knee and ended up going to A&E for stitchesIt looks like i won't be able to do very much for the next couple of weeks I was lucky as im 20 weeks pregnant but did not harm the baby.

Can I sue the council for not maintaining the bridge?

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I did have boots on that have a fair tread it was not icy or cold as it was yesterday but the bridge is like decking so slippery all the time I thought this would need to be treated to prevent slips?

The council will owe you a duty of care, the question is one of fact as to whether they've met that duty by keeping the bridge in a reasonable condition. It's difficult to say without pictures, reports etc. Why not try a no win no fee PI solicitor?
