Advice on Leisure resort invoice

Hi,

 

1st post so please take it easy on me!! :razz:

 

I stayed at a leisure resort in January and on leaving, paid the full bill amount as stated by the receptionist. The receipt clearly states full balance paid.

 

About a week ago, I received an invoice from the leisure resort basically stating the had miscalculated the amount and I was due them more money.

 

Am I liable to pay this money given that my receipt states I have paid the full amount and the mistake was made at their end?

I would want to know where they had "miscalculated".

 

Do you still have the original receipt which states quite clearly that your bill has been paid in FULL ?

Yes, I still have the receipt.

 

Is the best approach to write a letter to them with a photocopy of the receipt?

Yes, I would. Ask them where exactly they think you owe them money, especially as you have the original invoice confirming it was paid in full.

 

TBH, I dont think they have much of a case.

 

Send the letter by a tracked method - SPecial or recorded delivery and keep the proof of posting and print off the signed delivery slip from the RM website.
