hi all.i have been offered a job with a electric provider, part of my job will be viisting people who havent paid their bill and try to arrange some kind of payment and going with the locksmith and changing/removing meters.

the company hasnt yet asked for CRB but i i have an unspent criminal conviction ,shall i just forget about the job or wait till they ask for one.

Do the usually hire people with criminal conviction for these roles?

No hard and fast rules unless it is specified in the job advert that there is a bar on employing anybody with an unspent conviction.

To a certain extent it would depend on the nature of the conviction and whether it is relevant to the type of work that you would be doing.

Just answer questions honestly and given the opportunity, explain and sell all of the positive points!

Any advice given is done so on the assumption that recipients will also take professional advice where appropriate.
