Hi - I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who offers advice on here - it's a great resource.

I've read a lot on here about Wonga offering payment plans - freezing interest and allowing borrowers to repay over a few months etc. I just have two specific queries - if anyone can help that'd be great?

1) My loan has not defaulted, but it has grown to a size I will never get out of. Each month I have to borrow again from Wonga, and I'm totally trapped. So even though I have not missed a payment yet, will they still consider a payment plan for the full loan plus one month's interest?

2) If they did accept a payment plan as a way of clearing the loan, would they then record my loan as a default on my credit file? My file is currently clean of any defaults/CCJs etc - and I hope to keep it that way. But would they add a default notice to it in these circumstances, or record it as late payments? Does anyone with experience of payment plans know the answer to that?

Thanks very much! :|

Hi DarrenAs. Wonga will most probably likely record on your credit report in the event you do default - risk you take other major lenders just the same That said if you got a plan agreed it would likely show as 'arrangement to pay' affecting credit possibly for up to 6 years it is said your credit file is already trashed if your doing this type of loaning regularly anyway I'd ask today for a plan you won't know till you ask - things can get better : ) I can't begin to express the relief felt that my wage is now MINE and it's not been 'eaten' seconds as payment hits (ok a couple of days until it comes to paying the priority bills!) Good luck c'mon if I can do this you can x

Hi - thanks for the reply! I'll definitely think about it - as things stand my credit scores are still quite good so I don't want to damage that if I can avoid it.

Does anyone else have experience of this? Does a repayment plan mean a default being recorded? thanks!

I checked my credit file a couple of weeks ago and was completely astounded to find that none of the PDL's I used defaulted me. Apart from credit searches, there's nothing on file to suggest that I ever had loans with them, which is a bit weird IMO.

I never used Wonga though, so exercise caution before acting on my experience.

Payday Express - did me as default

Payday UK - Arrangement to Pay (which is as bad as default apparently)

Quick Quid - now it comes to light they may show under Call Credit only....

this is why I reckon Wonga could be similiar

If I'm to believe that! didn't stop me getting a mobile credit contract quite recently

Lending Stream just seems to have recorded an entry along with one other payday lender I had never used...

Hi - thanks very much everyone for the replies and the info.

It doesn't feel entirely fair that a loan will be marked as a default even if the whole amount plus one month's interest is repaid. :(

No if paying by Standing order they can't get your details - you control it not them. You should know where their bank details are by now...

Very Well done !!! : ) this is all looking good. Try not worry about Payday UK if they pass to Keyes Whitlock (their inhouse collections) we can re-figure as they say they cannot refuse any payment...I'm sorry about 247 Moneybox my next trick would be letter - recorded delivery let them know you ain't going to be ignored!

IF there is an incorrect entry write to the CRA and let them know, they will tell you to write to the original creditor but in your letter clearly state you had no contract or contact with this lender and can find no details on them.

Thanks SG I'm up for giving this a try
