I have considerable debts to two UK Credit Card companies.

I am a pensioner who was managing until the crisis and the poor exchange rate reduced my pension to such an extent that I have been struggling and in the coming few months I may be in a position where I cannot pay anything to the monthly instalments.

I will have to meet other commitments first and will not be able to pay the Credit Cards.

I had an arrangment with one of them to pay reduced payments but managed to get back on track but things are now at the impossible stage.

What action can these Companies take against me if I miss one or two monthly payments?

I have been resident in Spain for 8 years.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

They are unlikely to take action over a couple of missed payments although they will probably send you letters or telephone you.

They cannot take any legal action against you in the UK but there are reciprocal agreements in place between EU countries where they can in Spain although it would have to be heard using UK law.

How old are these credit cards & was there any PPI or have they added any unfair charges?
