Got a JSA3 form from my Jobcentre today, and was also given another sheet of paper with a declaration on it that me and my partner have to both sign. The declaration states:

I declare that since the date of my last claim, there has been no change of circumstances or in the circumstances of my partner, which might affect my entitlement to Jobseeker's Allowance or the amount payable to us.

The reason I have a JSA3 is to report a change in circumstances, so surely the declaration is contradicting itself, or am I reading it the wrong way?

Here's the declaration:

On further inspection, it appears that it's from a JSA4, which is a Rapid Reclaim if I'm not mistaken?

That form is for a rapid reclaim, not a Change of circs. Hard to make out, but definately a rapid reclaim.

My advice is based on my opinion, my experience and my education. I do not profess to be an expert in any given field. If requested, I will provide a link where possible to relevant legislation or guidance, so that advice provided can be confirmed and I do encourage others to follow those links for their own peace of mind. Sometimes my advice is not what people necesserily want to hear, but I will advise on facts as I know them - although it may not be what a person wants to hear it helps to know where you stand. Advice on the internet should never be a substitute for advice from your own legal professional with full knowledge of your individual case.

Please do not seek, offer or produce advice on a consumer issue via private message; it is against

forum rules to advise via private message, therefore pm's requesting private advice will not receive a response.

(exceptions for prior authorisation)

I have no intention of signing something that contradicts itself. I've no idea what they were hoping to achieve by getting me to sign it, probably a closed claim for giving false information and an IUC

Sorry, it probably sounded a bit harsh and I never intended it to be. I'm just annoyed that the Jobcentre think I'm stupid enough to sign it.

I'm considering it. The person I spoke to seems to have contempt for everyone that walks in. And she obviously doesn't know how to do her job.
