Refund on lemon used car

Thanks in advance for any advice.

 

I've read a lot about the base rules for returning a car under the consumer goods act. Short story is that that I've had several major faults (all identified in first 6 months) including a new gearbox and new injectors. The dealer is unable (not unwilling) to fix all of them.

 

Car was 2 years old when purchased for 28k.

 

They agree to take the car back. 8 months have now passed.

 

I expect a refund at the current retail price. The dealer is offering me trade in value. We're 5k apart and we can't seem to bridge an agreement.

 

Who is right?

I am just letting you know that as you haven't had any replies to your post yet, it might be better if you post your message again in an appropriate sub-forum. You will get lots of help there.

 

Also take some time to read around the forum and get used to the layout. It is a big forum and takes a lot of getting used to.

 

 

Once you start to find your way, you will soon realise that it is fairly easy to get round and to get the help you need.

 

It can be bit confusing at first.
