i have just escaped a very abusive relationship, i now have the police involved and will be pursuing charges against my ex partner. I lived in fear for the majority of the time i was with him.

I had 2 police escorts prior to him getting back in my life but he held things over me which i had not done and terrified me with what may happen.

i do however have to be honest as i allowed him to stay with me for approximatley 9 months, 36 weeks. Of which he was not working, when he did he did not pay me anything apart from one payment of 900 pounds. We have a baby and i was working. I was claiming housing benefit, child tax credit and working tax credits for this whole period.

if he had not lived with me this figure was all correct for my circumstances. I am going to be honest to the police and admit where i was wrong, i know this was wrong but i did what i had to do to survive.

What is likely to happen to me and my children, it scares me. I need to be really free from this man to protect my child myself and anyother woman on this earth. But i know there are going to be consequences to my actions.

Can anyone advise me........thankyou in advance

Hi aj

Welcome to CAG

The guys will advise as soon as they are available. You don't know what or if anything is going to happen, so it's a waste of energy, especially as you've got a baby

to look after. Do you know how much more you've claimed then you should have. I think you should declare it so your not worrying about it.

The police are involved because it is domestic violence. I know when he is arrested and charged with the things he has done to me he is going to be telling police anything n everything to discredit me. I am a victim of DV and it was horrific what i went through. He has already said he is going to report me for not declaring to my council that he was living with me for 9 months, he will also report me to the tax office too. So i have no choice but to be honest and upfront about everything. This is the only thing i have really done wrong. Just concerned what the repurcussions will be when it comes out.
