I had an Asda sim in a Vodafone phone and it worked perfectly well, unfortunately i spent more on Asda calls over the month than i did on Vodafone so i went back

You cant beat Vodafone's £15 a month freedom pack, even on Asdas 8p a minute

Saying that i'm on Tesco now lol but if that doesnt work out i will go back to Voda, they are crap at porting numbers though!

Yep I saw this today.

Asda will no doubt respond with something.

But I looked at Tesco terms and conds for this and mob calls are 20p.

They already had the buy a tenner get 30 quid which I tried but their website didnt give it to me-its not so easy.

Yep I registered and waited.

Didnt get the other £20 tho.

I remember trying allsorts -first of all I couldnt find the email confirmation that my registration had been completed.

I tried again and it said that any previous tariffs would be invalid.

So effectively I lost the original credit.

At the time I was snowed under with half a dozen bank claims,Virgin Media,Swinton Insurance, and United Utilities-so Tesco got off lighly....

I used the tenner and then went and got an ASDA sim.

Shortly after I got myself a Voda dongle after VM disconnected me-they realised that I was far too active advising other peeps on CAG about claiming VM charges and didnt think I should be using their internet to do it. I suppose thats fair enough.:)

I have been with Voda since the phones were the size of bricks-I fly the flag and love em to bits.

But they are still way behind on pricing and of course I like many use other sims.

My role on CAG has to be impartial and I will always speak my mind good or bad.

I will be honest,I did not expect to see the results we have seen here from the Voda web team-if others are as honest I guess they will say the same.

At the end of the day,its a very comprtitive market and thats got to be good for consumers.

We have seen some good discussions here too.

These new pay as you go monthly tariffs will help people, yet there will always be those opting for contracts tempted by the phone in the package.

I see people selling phones on the car boot sale every Sunday for £20 which probably cost £200 3 months ago.

People buy them and go to the market and get them unlocked for a tenner and put their own card in.

Anyway ..I am digressing a bit-time for sleep.

Maybe will have a dream come true.....that Orange will come and answer all the questions posed by CAG members...........

ha ha.........I think will remain a dream.

I dont think thats unusual, my hubby works for them and on several occasions he's had to ring them to get the extra put on.

All ok at the mo though touch wood lol

Cant believe you let them off without even as much as a slap on the wrist!

Hi Martin

I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean?

The above post was in answer to Ford regarding whether we can proved the NUC (network unlock code) for Pay As You Go phones.

Cheers

I meant does this apply to any phone holder irrespective as to whether they bought from a VF outlet or agent.

Just that theres lots changing hands on ebay, second hand shops.etc etc where they may not be registered owners bla bla bla.

...it was a vodafone phone if you get me? well, some users have said (locutus for eg in post#4) that 'Vodafone are quite good at not locking their handsets to their own network'! Hence my question! :)

Hi Martin

Provided the phone is a Vodafone UK locked handset we'll be able to provide the unlocking code for it, but you would need to have an active sim card with Vodafone (either Pay As You Go or contract).

All the best

Hi Ford,

On the basis of your update last week that yours worked and as the SIMs provided access the service via our network then this would seem to be the case.

Kind regards and if we can be of any further assistance in future you know how to reach us.
