Hi there, I hope somone can help me- my husband has filed for bankruptcy. He runs a business and has a lease on his name. My question is: can he keep the existing lease and continue running the business? The landlord doesn't mind to let him stay, but our solicitor has said that as a bankrupt he can not have a lease on his name? Is that correct? Even if the landlord agrees for him to stay in the property? The official receiver has advised my husband that he is allowed to continue trading so no issue here, only problem is the lease. Can he keep in or he has to surrend it as a bankrupt? Please help. Thanks.
