I know there's probably about a million threads like this but:

I'm a very gentle, kind person, but HBOS make me want to tear my hair out! So, I manage my account online. I was completely unaware that this method of banking would cost me so much money. Because apparently it doesn't update, and I should, instead be taking my lazy arse down to the cash point to print off a mini statement so I actually know how much money I have in my account. Either that or get myself an accountant. I fear I might have been able to afford one if I had not been charged so much over the years. The icing on the cake is being told that my very first reversal of a bank charge was a 'good will gesture'. GOOD WILL?!!? NO! Good will would be not charging me £100 for going overdrawn by £1.50 for less than 1 day, when your stupid good for nothing waste of space for a website is telling me I'm in credit. I can't help but think that these are just ingenious methods of trying to get themselves out of the stupid mess they've got themselves into.

It's not fair :(

Hello and Welcome, Calpol.

It's not fair !!! Tell us about it ;)

I'm like you, nice guy, would'nt harm a flee, help old ladies across the road, ect.

Banked with HBOS for about 25 years and incurred about £8,000 in charges

Ended up taking them to court, got back every penny including interest, like you they told me the would refund a few as a goodwill gesture and I had no chance of getting any more

Your best option is to claim the charges back, It's your cash.

Regards.

Scott.

I've attempted to claim back charges previously, but I just got a letter back saying that they would put my claim on file for the moment. I had been unemployed for approximately a year, but managed to gain employment and this is the first month I have been paid. So first comes relief then anger knowing I can't buy essentials (a heater - it's cold up here in scotland etc). Makes me wonder what good my money will go to when they rob it from me.

Put your claim in through the courts now. You will be entitled to a waiver of court fees

Hi,

I used FOS before the test case, I think now they will tell you everythings on hold.

You have to have had a 'final offer' from your Bank and must use FOS within 6 months of receiving that 'final offer'.

Regards.
