Just had a dealing with this dodgy company. 6 weeks, I have had Text Messages saying "Congratulations, you have won a prize, contact 08701590162 quoting referance number **********v". Like yeah ok sod that off.

 

Still getting calls off them, "I aint answering them" from them.

 

Then this message came threw "Urgent business MSG call 08701590162 quoting ***********v. alternatively go to www.intrum.co.uk, Intrum Justiti Ltd." Yeah ok, I still aint ringing back.

 

Then came the Letter. "Failure to make payment after the Judgement may resultin the use of a Bailiff or Sheriff Officer, or deductions being made from your wages." Excuse me. So I thought, cut out the Monkey Boys, and contact the original company direct. They got the wrong address I moved out on. But anyway I still owe them money so pay up. "Sod off, prove it" was my reply. This is the best bit, the Company are sending me, every communication we have ever had, Letters, payments, phone call transcripts the works.

 

Back to IJ. I gets there landline number, im not ringing them on an expensive number. (also its free to ring landline numbers, can argue all day with them). I asked for my prize. Nope I aint won one. Ok so I won a date in court, cool prize.

The rest of the call went like this.

Me: What was so urgent?.

IJ: You owe us Money.

Me: who are you.

IJ: we are the world leading Debt collection company and we intend to collect this debt. (edited)

Me: How you collecting it?

IJ: You pay us.

Me: I dont owe you money, I owe ******** money apparently. So im paying you nothing.

IJ: yes you are.

Me: isn't threatening letters, calls and texts illegal?

IJ: Prove we did

Me: I got the first letter here saying you sending in the baliffs

IJ: we dont deal with Baliffs.

Me: Says in letter u do

IJ: it says we may

Me: You just said you dont deal with Baliffs

IJ: We dont, its a scare tactic. (PRICELESS)

Me: You dont scare me

IJ: Pardon

Me: Bargghh (loudly)

IJ: What you do that for?

Me: Did I scare you?

IJ: You did a little.

Me: Good thats how you scare people

IJ: How u wish to Pay.

Me: I dont

IJ: Mr ********* you must pay

Me: Why u not sending the Baliffs and the debt is wrong I dispute it.

IJ: we'll have to send it back.

Me: Barggghhhhh

IJ: Can you stop doing that

Me: Just testing my scare tactics are working

IJ: I am ending this call

Me: But I having fun

Silence

Me: Hello

Me: Barrggghhhh

IJ: we are sending the debt back for investigation, Goodbye

Me: Can I call again?

Line goes dead....

Got to be worth a complaint to trading standards/OFT about the "prize" letter.
