My husband got a phone call last Friday before his shift at work telling him not to go in as the shop was closing. They are now saying that they will not be paying him for that day. Now this was his contracted hours not overtime and he would have gone to work if they had not made the decision for him.

Can they stop his wages for this day?

hi there, the answer to this is.....you can't be forced to take holiday and if you're workplace closed then they have to pay you as your contract of employment will state that they have to providw work. if THEY are unable to do that but you are able and willing to work they have to pay for your full shift.
