I will be 65 next year (2009).

My wife is partly sighted, and is in receipt of Severe Disablement Allowance (SDA), which gives her an independent income.

My question is:

If I retire and start claiming the state pension for myself only, can my wife continue to receive her SDA?

Or will I need to claim the state pension for both of us - in which case my wife would lose her SDA?

Thanks.
