Hello,

a few weeks ago (prob nearly 4) i was about to embark on a 4 hour train journy and realised i'd left my fantasic headphones on my desk...now i cant handle 4 hours with no music or movies so i nipped across the road from the station to the Sony store and asked what they had that wasn't a millon quid, stopped people hearing what i was listening to and blcked outside noise out.

the salesman instantly said these are brilliant and will do what you want - he said he'd had a pair for 3 years.

i asked if they came in black - he said yes but they didnt have any so white it is..

sold - £29.99 later and i'm on the train.

first off i tried all the ear pieces it come iwth to get the best fit, once i was satisfied i noticed i could hear everything when the music was on, train noise, announcments and even the toilet flushing which wasnt that loud when the earphones were out!

then twice i got asked to turn it down by the person behind me and the person in front - i only had them on about 30% volume!

so i'm of the thinking that they dont do any of the things i asked for thus they have been mis-sold.

Can i ask for a refund? if so can i do this via recorded post as the sony shop in question is 4 hours away?

If i had chosen them myself i could only blame myslef but the fact i asked 'expert advise' has left me a little pee'ved!

28 days is usually the maximum a retailer would accept without a lot of arguments to obtain a full refund. Just take them in and tell them for the price they are of a very poor quality.

I purchased some £9.99 ones from HMV a few weeks ago and on putting them on couldn't hear outside of the headphones at 50% volume. Shows that brands don't mean anything

i couldn't agree more - i didn't buy from Sony for namesake - it was the only shop in the area that i had time to visit...

i dont think i'll be in the area to take them back but i will post them via recorded mail tomorrow and see what happens - whats the worst they can say - NO!
