Chequespread!

As everyone knows, Im currently dealing with 26 creditors and am completely empowered by this site to deal with EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM!!!!!

 

Anyway, a situation caught my eye today whilst reviewing all of my correspondance.

 

Basically, I too out a payday loan through samedaycash.co.uk for the sum of £500. This came to a total of £697.95 through interest. Needles to say I couldnt pay it bank and it was sent to a company called Chequespread Plc for collection.

 

I paid Chequespread a total of around £20 through the 8 months my account was with them, but the debt kept increasing and increasing and eventually I gave up with them.

 

I received another letter from Samedaycash explaining that the debt was being sent to another agency for collection.

 

My last letter from Chequespread stated the debt at £847.00 including charges.

 

My latest letter from my new collection agency states the debt at £677.95, which would of been the right sum anyway after the payments sent to Chequespread.

 

Now my whole point to this thread is, are DCA's allowed to add charges like that, because it evidently was NOT the original creditor! Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them.

dcas can add charges as long as it is in the contract that they can. U need to read the original contract to seeif they can
