Hi, everybody. Just hoping someone can help me out.

I received a parking ticket the other day for - supposedly - parking on the pavement,(there is major parking problem in our street, and sometimes there is literally NOWHERE else to park) however, on reading the parking ticket it is impossibleto see what the actual offence is, or if the registration of my vehicle has been recorded corretcly.

My question is this : Can i dispute the parking ticket of the details on my copy are illegible?

or : Can i dispute the ticket if the legible registration of the vehicle does not ,atch my vehicle(even if it is only by one letter)?

I look forward to your help.

scan the ticket up so we can check,

certain things need to be there, if you cant read them then the ticket doesnt comply.

Here goes then! As you can see - scanned it a bit large! - the offence is illegible as is my registration number, also some figures appear to have been written on after the pink bit was removed from the wardens book.

Sorry its so big.

FPN , different matter altogether im afraid. If this was a pcn you would have a decent challenge under the tma 2004.

Your ticket comes under the rtra 1984, mistakes I believe can be rectified if you choose to contest in the magistrates.

Oh well, was worth a shot. thanks for the help.

Just a side note - does it cost extra if i wish it to go to court?

Was considering disputing the obstruction/ unnecssary obstruction wording. would save me a tenner!

They must prove unnecessary obstruction on all counts ie it was unecessary could you have parked anywhere else, And you were obstructing , maybe padestrians had to walk on the road with pushchairs, wheelchairs etc.

Maybe you were you obstructing the view of other traffic.

You could AFAIK write to the issuing authority and ask for the evidence that you were obstructing ie pocket book notes and or photographic evidence of the offence.

And yes it will cost more if you are found guilty, costs plus £15 for victim support I think
