I will - I was almost scared off at one point but now I've just gone for it. If this is successfull (apart from making a donation) I'll be claiming back my credit card charges.

I didn't know NatWest were linked to the Royal Bank of Scotland?

Initially owed £76

Phone call to NatWest - £19 refunded

Now claiming £57

Visit to local branch - Nothing done

Initial letter - Standard refusal letter from Mr. Higley

LBA - Another refusal letter from Mr. Higley

Action filled Monday 7th August - court costs £30

Now claiming £87

10th August - Natwest acknowledge the claim, intend to defend in full

23rd August - Received a latter and cheque from RBS for the full amount

24th August - Send letter to RBS accepting payment on the condition that payment is not confidential

30th August - Payment cleared.

Case closed!

I kind of did but didn't realise it fully till now. Strange isn't it how they are all linked. Barclays is part of Woolich and places like that. I have just sent in my pre lim letter to Natwest Credit Card now so i will let you know the outcome, expecting reply any day soon.

  • 2 weeks later...

Excellent news! I've just returned from holiday and found a letter and cheque from RBS explaining that if I accept my claim will be confidential. From what I've read I now write back and explain that I will accept if it isn't confidential, but I'd like conformation of this.

Thank you everybody for your help :)

(Once my cheque is cleared I'll be making a donation!)

Congratulations!

Thank you :)

I've drafted a letter but Have a few questions. Here's the letter:

Dear Miss Rogers

MatthewL–v- National Westminster Bank plc

Claim number:

Thank you for your letter dated the 18th August; I appreciate the time you have taken to contact me regarding this issue. I write to you to inform you that I accept your payment of £87.00 however not the condition that payment, and the details of which, remain confidential. Upon the acceptance of this I shall write to the court and withdraw my claim and accept the payment.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

MatthewL

c.c Northhampton County Court.

Is this OK? There won't be any chance they'll withdraw their offer? Should I send a copy of this to the court too?

Thanks :)

Hi,

The people in the chat room have just told me that if I'm not bothered I can accept the confidentiality.

I just need to send a copy of the letter to the court - do I just send it to them as I do to Natwest or do I have to attach a note or anything?
