My friend has just started seeing a girl from his local pub and she will not let him stop overnight at her house due to her being on benefits (Child Tax and Working families tax credits). I've told him that it won't affect them but im no expert, can anyone clarify how many nights he can stop a week (he does have his own place and is a tax payer) if that makes any difference.

Cheers

Eric

The child tax credit, I don't believe will be affected.

The Working Tax Credit is slightly different as it is naturally based on how many hours you work and what your income is. If he is just staying the odd night here and there then I don't suppose it matters, if he was there full time then that would be a different matter, as they would be classed as co habiting. I suppose it is all dependant on whether he/she tells them, or somebody else reports them, then it would hit the fan:eek:

Hope that helps
