  1. Do check the companys are searching ? and not just leaving foot-prints, as these are two differant things on credit files, foot-prints are deleted after 6mths or sooner if you ask, searches are more indepth to others and the searcher...
  2. Scott If CPW are asking you for £350.00 as a deposit to gain a contract phone, i would take my business elsewhere..............
  3. OPs very 1st thread quote: 'there was some damage to the painted bumper'. OPs thread 22.24 quote: 'The mark has washed off' Wish my car damages just washed away, im sorry if the car was hit by the train door and there very heavy... you would have stopped to inspect the damage and report it accordingly.
  4. A quick polite call to the centre would stop any appointment there have asked your daughter to attend, don't be afraid about the letter, you have nothing to worry about, the JC are trying to get people on Incapcity benefit into employment, and it looks as if the letter is just computer generated, to claimants on there books. But due to the servere illnesses with your daughter, the quick phone call will put them correct as to your daughters needs. All the best for the times ahead.
  5. Hiya try this site it is very useful and could give hind-sight to any tax credit claim you are thinking of applying for... HM Revenue & Customs:Tax Credits It also has a DO I QUAILFY section, just follow the online questions and pages and it will tell you whether you might be entitled to claim and gives a rough amount payable at the last page...Good luck with the claim...
  6. Hiya J Try this site for pension forcasts and whats payable and when? HM Revenue & Customs: Home Page just type in pensions and it will direct you to that information... The rent/income from the second house your mom/dad own will be taken in2 account when being accessed, pension credits are to top up the state pensions which are too low, my own mom claims both pensions as she has NO private pension...she also claims the high rate of disability, which includes carers allowances etc, she gets help with housing costs, due to having no savings etc, so someone with savings might have to dis-close the figure and might lose out due to having saved money for rainy days, whether it will pay for them to take there pensions early, i really think there should talk that over with there finaical advisors, as for carers allownaces please read.... EIM76210 - Social security benefits: Carer’s allowance: summary Part 10 Chapter 3 ITEPA 2003 Carer’s Allowance, which was called Invalid care allowance until 1 April 2003, is taxable. The basic conditions for Carer’s Allowance are that the claimant must: spend at least 35 hours every week caring for a severely disabled person be at least 16 years old and below state pension age when he or she qualifies for Carer’s Allowance not be doing work for which he or she earns (or expects to earn) more than £79 (from April 2004) a week not be attending a full-time course of education. If you need more information about Carer’s Allowance ask your local Benefits Agency for leaflet FB31 'Caring for someone' and DS700 ‘Carer’s Allowance claim pack’. Someone with more know how on such will be along soon, but hopefully the above will help you in the mean time.... Don't be afraid in claiming what you think your folk are entitled to, the long endless pages of information and such are meant/designed to put claimants off, there is billions of pounds in differant benefits that people hav'nt claimed due to the endless forms etc involved...But remember a chat with there personnel advisor about the pensions is advised..... Jobcentre Plus might also shed light on some matters ur thread mentions....ie carers allowances, IPB etc etc
  7. Also dont forget the major credit crunch that is happening at the minute, both here and abroad, banks etc are cutting back on whom it lends to, it might not have been your credit record that caused the refusal, but the bank cutting back at the time of your application being processed. I find going into the bank, to apply for loans etc has a higher acceptance rate, than if done on line, so maybe you might find a branch visit more affective....
  8. I fell from inside the store to out..... then u knew in advance the condition of the weather, and should have been extra careful when exiting the store wheres hundreds of customers would have entered and exited making the area even more soaking than when you 1st arrived, the wet sign you say should have been there, might have been kicked to the side out of view by a child playing, it does happen.. even the strong wind might have blown it outta view, trying to blame the store would be pointless, as the possible things that could have happened to the sign are endless, and proving one sign wasnt there wouldnt be worth the hassle, unless of course you happened to have your camara with you or took photos with your phone to prove the sign wasnt there. its like claiming you have been short charged three hours after the transaction took place........
  9. Your own predictiment stardust doesnt fall into the workshy status my quote reads........ Incapacity benefit is for people whom genuiely can-not part-take in any form of deemfull employment, sadly too many people take advantage of this benefit as it pays more, i for one is glad of the goverments recent preposels to clamp down on such claimants, why wait untill 2010 to start the revamp, start it now that would send shivers down the lazy spines of the work shy.... labelling/judging people as it easily offends. Only offends those guilty of juggling the benefit system, yes there are gen ill folk out there claiming what there entitled, of which is accepted, but ask how on earth why there are 20+ thousand claimants getting 30k plus per year just by claiming benefits, see the sun dated 20th march 2008 page 64 then tell me why it offends such people whom earn twice as much as someone whom gets up and goes to work to support there famlies..... if the lazy work shy want respect and dont want to be labeled, the answer is looking them in the face, get a job and give something back to the system.
  10. When the JSA dept stopped ur payments/benefit, it automacally informs the HB depts, hence this benefit stops also, untill you prove to them ur new form of income, you would have received a letter from the HB dept, informing you of the intended stoppage of benefit, giving you the time to hind to there request of proof of income/benefit. if ur claim from JSA goes to income support ur HB will re-start and will be paid from the date of the JSA stopping. hence no loss of HB just a pause.
  11. Jobcentre Plus gives what benefits can be claimed while seeking employment, are you now claiming income support now your JSA has been stopped, it pays the same amount of benefit but is payable to persons of no income, reading you thread your JSA was stopped due to you not attending a interview over a year ago , this benefit is payable to persons actively seeking employment,( you failed to seek employment by not attending the interview ) if you can proof you are seeking employment re-apply for the benefit, otherwise if not doing so by now, claim income support....see the website for what benefits can be claimed in your postion...
  12. If your fit and healthy then you will have to start claiming job seekers allowance, and actively seek employment, once your income support stops, the goverment recently stated that people claiming incapacity benefit would have to proof there are unfit to seek work, and i have heard of some peoples benefit just been stopped untill medically seen by one of there advisors and had a re-accessment, job-seekers does paid less than incapacity benefit, hence why alot of healthy well ableied folk try claim it, as more money for doing nothing, see rates on the JSA website at Jobcentre Plus this site will also give information on what benefits you can and can't claim, once your child reaches a certain age...If you are not able to work due to ill health then claiming ICB would be the route to take, but otherwise job seekers would be the benefit you would be claiming after there stop your income support....you state old lone parent ? not ill parent so would guess that you age doesnt limit you from working...unless of course your over the retirement age...just because your doctor might sign you off, when you get accessed by the medical advisor there might state you are fit for work, hence no claim for ICB.....
  13. Hence why alot of older persons have started hiding money around there homes to prevent such benefit losses, could she not put some of her money into a account in your name, or other family members name, or give money to family as gifts.... someone whom can advise on such will notice ur thread soon, and respond favourablely....if u go on the goverment website it will detail what savings are allowed b4 it affects benefit entitlements....
  14. Hello Rooster-uk thax for the editing messages you sent me, however its the OP that started the thread not myself........when title editing is done its the OP that needs informing not people that respond as there can-not change the title ....hence have no say upon the matter....getting such messages only fills my in box..... cheers..... Maybe this could be looked into and the editing message just sent to the OP ? just a thought
  15. As a short term solution get your friend to contact her bank, and request that further payments to the company be declined, at the same time get him/her to claim the funds taken from the account back from the bank, under the direct debit refund policy/terms.... From that it is up to yourself and the insurance company to commuicate about what is owed and what isn't...But funds being taken from your friends account needs to be stopped, and contacting the bank will secure that this happens befor any more funds are taken... someone with insurance knowledge will be along to assit you with that shortly, but the bank should be the main thing to deal with 1st......
  16. A quick read through there terms and conditions might assit you in making the choices that are available to you...i have highlighted the age terms on there website... Reduced prices for 1st and 2nd children only apply to children sharing a hotel room or apartment with 2 full-fare-paying adults. • 4 adults sharing an apartment with 2 or more bedrooms can bring 2 children at the 1st child price (one of which may be a free child, if available). • If one child qualifies for a free child place, a 2nd child sharing the same hotel room or apartment will pay the full 1st child price plus an amount per week as shown in the price panel. • Children not sharing with at least 2 adults (except for single parent offers where applicable), third and subsequent children pay the adult price and count as adults when the occupancy level is calculated. • Deposits, flight, room, extra facility and board supplements and insurance premium (if taken) must be paid in full for all children travelling at a reduced child price. Age ranges are as follows: 2-12 years inclusive in hotels unless otherwise stated on the hotel description (please see the note above on bed sharing); 2-16 years inclusive in apartments. • Children under 2 years of age on the date of the return flight count as infants. See flight information. • No person under 18 years of age will be allowed to travel independently with Thomson. If you are 17 years of age or under, at least one accompanying member of your party must be 18 years of age or over, and this person must be the lead name on the booking. • Owing to the nature of tours we regret we are unable to accept bookings for children under 12 years on the date of return travel. • Thomson Gold: We do not accept bookings for children under 16 years of age. • Cots: We do recommend that you bring your own travel cot as some hoteliers cannot guarantee that there will be a cot available on the date you arrive. Please bear in mind that no extra baggage allowance is given for travel cots, so you will have to pay an extra charge if your total luggage weight exceeds the airline’s own limit (which may be less than 20kg. See 'Baggage Allowance' under ‘Flight information’). Hoteliers may charge for infant cots and food. Thomson.co.uk - Great offers on Holidays, Flights and Hotels I would think that since you declared your child as over the age limit and deemed a adult, when booking the holiday, also that thomson has indeed taken full payment for the holiday, you could thrash out some sort of deal between urself and them, but do remember that should you opt to cancel the holiday and go with another travel you would need to tell them ur child is classed a adult which would bump the price up, so i'd opt to haggle with thomson to get a discount, rather than go somewhere else and pay full price....If you booked in shop go chat to the person you booked with, and see what there can do, failing that, ask to speak to the shop manager, she/he should have the means to alter prices or offer any discounts that might be offered/considered... Should you still disagree, don't cancel the holiday urself, otherwise you will be charged a cancelation fee, let thomson cancel it, that way you get the full refund....

    DVLNI Sorn & fine

Sadly even if you are not using the car and it is parked dorment for months and the tax expires the cars keeper is held responible for any fines or taxation of that car, gone are the days you got a warning about tax running out, the computer just sends out a fine via the post, unless the SORN was sent in to the DVLA....It doesnt matter if you threw away the car tax renewal form, it still needed taxing or sorning...... From the 25th NOV to the 11th FEB the dvla had no sorn for that car, the tax ran out hence the fine was computer genarated.....It doesn't matter if you can prove you bought and taxed your 2ND car, the 1st car on your friends drive was still in your name and needed addressing....As far as the dvla thought the car was still being used on the roads, hence required taxing, once you sold the car, and the dvla recieved the forms required, then the car is registered with the new owner..... As mad as you feel, pay the fine while its the cheaper opition, before there rise the price due, then appeal there decision, if you feel you have grounds....but sadly without you sorning the car any appeal will be declined unless some1 ere knows differant...... car tax

Don't risk the chance of a heavy fine or even worse the crushing of your car, If by chance you can-not tax your car, fill in a sorn appilcation, this can be done on line, and just don't use it untill it is taxed, remember you will have to unsorn the car at time of taxing it.....you are allowed to tax the car 15 days before the tax runs out, but aren't allowed to drive around for three days untaxed.....
  19. Get your remote pass-word protected for when ordering films via the supplier, i know ours is with sky, i'd say if you know you havn't ordered the films you are being charged for, let VM come and inspect your installion but state you won't be covering there costs, take a note of when the films were ordered and watched, monitor the following month or so, better still if there were ordered/watched while you were away ie at work or holiday, then you can prove instantly that the dog watched them, just joking hehehe, that you did'nt order such and refuse to pay.... VM could be getting you confused with another customer which does happen, regardless of how much there say there equipment costs...get a copy from them of the dates and times of the films and take things from there....
  20. RRRR now me gets the jist, you paid full balance minus the expected credits, £90.00 If you paid more than the statement minimum payment, then no late payment charges will be payable, as long as the minimum is paid by the due date....Intrest is not charged untill the intrest free days have passed, some cards don't give intrest free days, one of my cards has a balance of £2k and the intrest is only 5.4% per month (special promo), so for your intrest for that period be near touching £100 i would be inclined to ask what APR there are charging you, on your last statement it would show what intrest is payable and for what period and state the APR also, since you pay the balance of in full, the intrest is puzzling ? unless you have a missed payment charges in there somewhere..... Cash advances and the cheques there give out now and then also charge mush higher intrest than normal purchases, and intrest starts soon as the cash etc is taken, not saying that this is the case with you.....I'd be inclined to contact them for the explanination about the intrest due/APR... Not saying you have, but does the £93.85 state intrest due or balance due, ive confused these many times and shocked myself untill i have noticed my mistake and breathed a sigh of relief.....
  21. Not sure if ur still looking for on-line work, but have you considered working as a chat moderator on one of the many (bingo) sites, not sure if can mention that word, mod correct me if can't.... its work from home and might give some extra cash for holidays etc.......
  22. As the other nice people have said, if you are in the postion to apply for another card, and transferr the balance, to a lower or nil rate card, with a small transferr fee, take that opition, as you wil save even more of your money rather than give it to the CC company....if you do transferr, remember to close the other account, you don't want extra tempitation at using it again....
  23. Sadly as it seems refunds/credits don't count as payments towards the balance due or payment due.....the minimum payment requested at the time of statement date would still need paying regardless if refunds or credits are added at the same period....So the CC company charged you for Not paying the figure as per the statement date...Did there charge a fee for not paying the amount asked, as your thread says intrest which is placed upon any figure outstanding each month...
  24. All companys have proceedures to follow, instantly dis-missing an employee leaves the company open to a appeal, which your son should put in writing as soon as possible, if he has access to CAB or ACAS ask him to make contact with them, there will guide him through the appeals process, instant dismissal is normally deemed for instances of gross mis-conduct, reading the letter you placed on the thread, it doesn't state there have sacked your son, just accepted his own verbal resigination, which your son could claim wasn't said, if there bring a wittness to state he did say such, then that same wittness must have heard the verbal abuse given to your son at the same time from that CD so either way your son should seek the assistance of CAB or ACAS, to take up his case, if he's really brave enough, just advise him to attend work on monday, as infact the company have nothing in writing to state your son left upon his own acord...But 1st things 1st, the letter stating he didnt resign and that he expects the company to continue making the weekly wages payment, while there keep him from his place of employment... Your son needs to hold his ground, but seek the advice of a professional, like the CAB or ACAS...
  25. People pay cheap prices for poor quailty goods then moan when there break or feel there have being done, people get what there pay for, you pay cheap price you get cheap product then come on ere wanting advice due to cheap item breaking, you get what you pay for... As for insurances being taken out at time of buying, this covers for times like this, don't you think LOUIS an extra £20 or £30 at time of buying would have saved all trouble now, so NO i don't think insurance is waste of money......... People should'nt expect to hear what there want to hear, its not always the correct advice, the sofa could have being damaged by children jumping on it, people being too heavy, the list is endless, again the retailer is being persued by a dis-satisfied customer due to the item being no good after 15 mths, cheap things arent bulit to last, and 15 mths for a homebase suite is about right.....As for saying insurances are no good or poor value for money, thats why so many people find themselves in such a postion..... My reply is not to wind the poster up as you impolitely state Louis i'm entitled to post as is any1 else, regardless if the advice is taken aboard or not....its called FREEDOM OF SPEECH LOUIS
